Welcome to SUM

The Welcome to SUM mobile application is a tool which helps foreign students to move between the buildings of University (i.e. Faculties, Rector’s Office, Dean’s Offices, Library, Centers for Medical Simulations in Katowice and Zabrze, Departments, organizational entities), Faculty campuses, Clinical Hospitals, around the city and neighboring cities. The app will help to find a way not only to a chosen University point, but will also guide you to the nearby tourist attractions and public places. The Welcome to SUM mobile application was created as part of the project entitled ’The Multidimensional support for SUM in the field of providing high quality services for students and foreign management (Welcome to SUM) under the Welcome to Poland Programme – Raising the competences of academic staff and the institution’s potential in accepting people from abroad – Welcome to Poland. The project is co-financed from the European Social Fund sources within the framework of the Knowledge Education Development Operational Programme (non-competitive project entitled ‘Raising the competences of academic staff and the institution’s potential in accepting people from abroad’, implemented under the action specified in the application for co-financing the project No. POWR.03.03.00-00-PN14/18). The aim of the project is to improve the quality of services rendered for foreigners staying at the University, i.e. students and staff from abroad. Aplikacja mobilna Welcome to SUM jest narzędziem ułatwiającym studentom oraz gościom z Zagranicy poruszanie się po budynkach Uczelni (Wydziały, Rektorat, Biblioteka, Centrum Symulacji, Katedry, jednostki organizacyjne), kampusach wydziałowych, szpitalach klinicznych, po mieście oraz miastach ościennych. Aplikacja pomoże odnaleźć drogę do wybranego obiektu SUM, ale również pokieruje do znajdujących się w okolicy atrakcji turystycznych oraz miejsc użyteczności publicznej. Aplikacja mobilna Welcome to SUM została stworzona w ramach projektu pn. Wielowymiarowe wsparcie SUM w zakresie zapewnienia wysokiej jakości obsługi studentów i kadry zagranicznej (Welcome to SUM) w ramach Programu Welcome to Poland – Podniesienie kompetencji kadry akademickiej i potencjału instytucji w przyjmowaniu osób z zagranicy – Welcome to Poland. Projekt jest współfinansowany ze środków Europejskiego Funduszu Społecznego w ramach Programu Operacyjnego Wiedza Edukacja Rozwój (projekt pozakonkursowy pt. Podniesienie kompetencji kadry akademickiej i potencjału instytucji w przyjmowaniu osób z zagranicy realizowany w ramach działania określonego we wniosku o dofinansowanie projektu nr POWR.03.03.00-00-PN14/18). Celem projektu jest poprawa jakości obsługi cudzoziemców przebywających na Uczelni tj. studentów i kadry z zagranicy.
