Domestic Monitoring Initiative (DMI), LLC provides a unique tool that unobtrusively collects social media and location data from individuals with mental health diagnoses who are working with mental health professionals. Everyone who works with mental health caseworkers will have the app put on their cell phone just like they use the phone for all their other services right now. This is part of the agreed upon treatment protocol for working with the caseworker. Consent from each consumer will be obtained. Because there is no prompting to the individual to submit information, this prevents the individual from providing information that they believe the treatment provider wants to see. The proprietary algorithm processes the information from normal behavior as it relates to the treatment of the individual through the collection of location information (including going to appointments on schedule, avoiding prohibited locations, etc.) and social media posts analyzed for sentiment and emotions (anger, happiness, worry, fear, joy, sadness, etc.). Healthy, and unhealthy, patterns are identified. Processed information is fed to an easy-to-use dashboard so that the mental health professionals already working with the individual can monitor and, when necessary, intervene appropriately to prevent escalation into crisis or hospitalization. This saves insurers and hospitals money and increases public safety by preventing those not familiar with the individual’s treatment from intervening. This also helps caseworkers, already challenged by their caseload, do their job more effectively and efficiently. Most importantly, DMI prevents human suffering on the part of the individual in treatment and their support network.
