Good thing it’s totally Free
Good thing it’s free because it’s very limited to what it can do. In fact, one of the first small Mac computers back in the 1990’s could do exactly what this App does: it allows you to type (or paste) text into a prompt and then reads it back. You can select different voice dialects, but most sound robotic and unnatural (which is okay for minor applications), but you can’t save the audio playback. So all you can do is listen to what you type. I guess you get what you pay for - nothing?

You have changed my life. I lost my voice after a hectic cold, and have been forcing myself to speak for a couple of days (which most likely is delaying the healing process)

My grandma has a voice after her stroke now.
My grandma had a stroke in the speech center of her brain. She’s slowly regaining the ability to speak, but it’s been extremely frustrating and difficult. This is the only app that seems to be free, easy to use, and doesn’t have a bunch of unnecessary things. It’s TTS, that’s it, and it’s perfect. It makes me incredibly happy that the developer has made an amazing accessibility app and isn’t charging for it. I’ve tried 7 other apps and they all have a limit to how many messages you can do each day without paying, or have complicated and confusing UI.

So far, so good! I have had laryngitis for two solid months. This has helped me immensely since the doctor told me to rest my voice. I tried another app and it kept playing ads. It is already embarrassing that I can’t talk and I am the slowest texter, then some loud ad would play and everyone laughs. Thank you for this app and the ease of use.
