HistoLogic is a free study resource for people trying to learn tissue microscopy. It was designed for students in graduate medical education programs. Users of the app gain access to hundreds of high-quality images and helpful descriptions of the important cells, tissues, and structures in multiple organ systems created by faculty at University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria.
Explore mode allows students to learn about cells in different organs and their functions in the body. Toggle between low and high magnification images of each organ. Specialized cells are clearly highlighted, and the underlying text describes their appearance and role.
The app also contains Time Trial mode with multiple choice questions at escalating difficulty levels. There are over 350 different questions to test your knowledge across multiple organ systems. The Time Trial questions challenge you to beat your old score with each login. The question order is randomized with each gaming session, and the app adapts to your previous play through.
True histology pros can test their skill in Hot Streak mode. This mode forces you to answer all 90 questions for an organ system in a single sitting. One wrong answer boots you back to the beginning and resets the question order. Can you make it all the way to the end?
