Did not work, just like every other review
As it has already been stated 18 times, I also could never even get the unit to connect, trying with a PC, WiFi, and the Hotspot, multiple times each, following the instructions verbatim.
Please fix your system, a lot of people spent money on a product that is just straight up unusable without connection to an App.
Do better, DAJA.

This app is garbage
Maybe instead of giving me a pop up that says “you must connect to the machine first” with an “ok” button, how about providing a button that prompts the app the connect with the machine again?
I somehow got the engraver to work, and I made some cool stuff, but then this app update that includes about a dozen “determine” buttons (don’t ask, I have no idea), and now I can’t even get it to connect. I’m so frustrated with this thing. There’s nowhere to save your work in the app, so if you leave the DAJA window, boom, goodbye work! And then you have to start all over again.
Also, this app is far from having enough English for them to say that the app is available in English, because that’s a high, steamy load. I don’t know what the “quit” button is supposed to do, but the help section of the horrible instruction booklet says to hit the “offline” button, so I’m guessing maybe that’s what it’s supposed to be doing? But if it is, there’s no indication that you’re offline! Grrrrrr.
I will say, it’s never crashed on me before, so kudos to building an app who’s crowning achievement is that it doesn’t spontaneously fail.

Doesn’t connect at all
Mr. App, you had one job to do, connect the engraver to the iPad. You didn’t do that job, so you’re fired.
Just got mine & 12hrs of disappointment.
Just got mine & 12hrs of disappointment trying to get this thing running. I can’t find any support anywhere. I’ve spent all day doing everything possible as per the manual. There’s no help coming from the FB page or the Reddit group I joined. I’m at a loss with this app.
Supported Devices
I too had an issue where the app on my iPhone 12 ProMax would not connect, however I could get it to connect with my iPhone 8! I’ll try some other devices soon. I hope this helps to get some users connected.
The UI needs a little work and the English is only partial, but so far it worked as I would expect and I’m happy with my the first results. I still need to load my own content and try making some in the app.
Once they have the connection issues worked out and UI smoothed out I’ll give this a much higher review.
Happy lasing everyone!

App is broken
Just got my DAJA and it won’t connect to the app. I tried every method and nothing is working. Please fix this issue. I’ve been waiting for months for the machine and not the app is broken. Not happy at all.
I backed this through a Kickstarter. Big mistake.
So, my very own DJ6 finally arrived. The cable suggests connecting to a PC, I can’t get the program to open ON my PC. I downloaded the app to my ipad, it doesn’t seem to be able to communicate with the DJ6. So, I have a desktop laser that runs a test pattern when switched on, but does nothing else. Wonderful.
I’ll be awaiting notice of newer software, or something. Maybe someone else will write program to use this unit, because it seems like DAJA built them but didn’t work out the problems.
Expensive Paperweight, for now.

Useless
Just received my DAJA DJ6 in the mail and was so excited. Downloaded the app. Device won’t connect to the app and I am following the instructions exactly. Half the app is also in another language and I can’t even tell what I am doing.
This is really poorly thought out and bad quality. I can’t do anything until this app works.

Successful connect
I like others am unable to connect by joining the wireless network created by the laser engraver. However, I have an iPhone, and in order to set the hotspot to the preferred name, I changed the name of the iPhone in settings to DA as the instructions say and then turned on the hotspot. I set the password to 11112222 on my hotspot as the instructions say. Then I turned on the laser engraver. I waited a few seconds, then I launched the app. It then connected and allowed me to print. I did a couple of test prints with text only on the little pieces of wood that came with the device and the resolution is very nice. I also burned Text into a leather iPhone case and also a flat stone from my backyard. I did have to focus the laser beam to a point as the instructions mentioned. I did not try to connect to a computer with the included USB cable. The app still needs work. If the app is already running when you try the above steps it won't connect. The steps need to be performed in the order stated.

Useless
Won’t connect with WiFi, Apple doesn’t allow you to change your hotspot name (other option to connect) and no desktop app. So I just bought a $200 useless piece of equipment. Really bad iOS design. They need to fix this issue.
