  • Doesn’t work

I’m an artist, and I thought this app would be useful for removing things like telephone poles from my reference photos. But when I tested the app by taking a photo of a Masonite painting board with some dried white paint on it, I found that it does not perform as advertised.

I tried using this app to remove the streaks of white paint, expecting that it would restore the tan colour of the Masonite. It did not. My first attempt changed the colour of the paint streaks from white to a dark grey. I could still see the outlines showing where those white streaks had been. My second attempt changed the colour from dark grey to a lighter, more muted grey, which also clearly showed the outlines of the original white paint. My third attempt just left vertical off-white steaks all across the area (I was using horizontal strokes, so the streaks were not caused by uneven coverage on my part).

A photo editor that removes unwanted objects is supposed to restore the colour of whatever is behind that object. Otherwise it is useless. In this case, it should have turned the selected section from white to tan, which was the colour of the board. But instead, it turned the area grey. There’s no way I can use this app on my reference photos if it’s not getting the colours right. I want a refund.
