Amazing app

Thank you:)
Unlocked locations nowhere near me?
Response from developer
Hey! Yeah this can happen if the app doesn't have access to your location when giving you the locations. We already resolved this over email, but if it happens to anyone else just email us at info@ecven.com and we'll help to solve the problem:) And in the future we'll also add a solution where you can pick the initial area where you receive the locations, but that will take some time.

We have the approval system for good reasons, it's meant to prevent sharing locations with just anyone. If urbex places become public or get into the wrong hands, they will get vandalized and ruined very quickly. We want to protect these places, and we want to have different systems that make finding spots easier for urbexers, but harder for the wrong type of people. The approval system is one of those systems. People who really want to find locations and are really interested in urbex will not be deterred with a little wait time to get an invite, and if they have issues they will take the effort to reach out in email. We always help people who reach out, so I'd recommend you to do the same, and you'll have an account in no time. You might also want to check your spam folder, the invite could have landed there as well. Overall, the invite system was more important when all the locations were visible to everyone in the app, but there's still features that are missing that would help protect these places, so it's still nice to have it as an extra layer of protection to avoid exposing locations unnecessarily. We know it's far from a perfect system and we'll be changing it at some point (not sure yet how it will look like exactly), but it helps a little in the meantime.

Phenomenal app with insane potential
Heres what makes Haze great:
•The app is sleek and clean with a great UI that doesn’t have too much clutter.
•The dev is responsive and friendly
•The locations have clear categories you can filter and also include points of interest which is great for quick stops during travel.
•There is a built in Memo system that allows you to document your experiences in app and these memos can also be shared for others to see.
•The map is very clear on what locations have yet to be confirmed and explored by others.
•You can add your own locations that need to be approved and the process does not take very long.
•Each location has “hazard indictors” (not sure what to call them). But essentialy there are icons that can be selected that show what to expect and what is recommended to bring. This system is very clean and easy to understand. Beyond this there are other quick indicators like difficulty as well as a description from the author of the location and personal experiences from memos.
•The app requires account approval for use, and the locations are not reveled all at once and you must explore and contribute to reveal more. This promotes respect towards these locations and encourages participation and community.
The only “issues” I have with this app are not issues that diminish its quality in my eyes. Just my personal ideas for what would Improve the app or things that could get better over time.
•You cannot use the app offline in any capacity. Networking is like magic to me so I will not say what it should look like but it’d be nice to be able to write and save memos offline and upload them later. It would also be nice to save locations offline including other people’s memos so it can be referred to when searching for the location. This is important because a lot of places like this (especially out west) are in places with little to no network connection. I added a spot in the Logan canyon in Utah for example, once you enter the canyon it’s a dead zone until you leave. This could be overcome with better prep and physical maps and all that but it’d just be nice.
•There aren’t a huge abundance of locations in some places(at least that I can see in the northwest.) But there are some very well known locations near me that are not on the map. I want to be so clear that THIS IS NOT THE DEVS FAULT. Once the community grows and people use the app more often more locations will appear. I will personally be adding all the well known locations that I know to the app to help. This is a community app so it’s content is naturally community based. There are still plenty of places to explore though and in a more concentrated area I’m sure it will change.
•There a things referenced on the profile page known as “drops.” Perhaps where I am isn't populated enough but I have no clue what that is. I think some clarification on that would be helpful because i cant find that info on app.
•there is what looks like a qr scanner that i’m not sire of the use for

Wow, thank you for taking all this time to write a review! Yes, having an offline mode is something we really want to add, as you said, many of these places don't have any reception, so I agree it's really important. It takes a lot of time to implement it though, so don't know when it's coming, but it's definitely on our radar:)Drops are actually how the whole app started, they are T-shirts with unique QR codes that can be found at a few locations where we placed them. Sadly they're kinda expensive so this idea got a bit neglected. Right now we're just focusing on making the urbex experience in the app as good as possible, but we haven't completely given up on the drops, we want to come back to them at some point:)The QR scanner can be used to scan drops, and also to create memos together with friends - when you create a memo, you just tap the middle button on the screen and a QR code will show up, and your friend can just scan that QR code to join and submit the memo together. Right now this is the main use of the QR scanner, but we have some other ideas for it:)Again, thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed feedback, and thank you so much for all the kind words. I hope the app will serve you well!
Best urbex app
Can’t wait to see this app grow and see the team get the credit they deserve!

Thank you so much, the detailed feedback, the kind words, this is just so awesome to read!! We want to release clothing and exploring gear at some point in the future, but as you said, never compromising on the experience:) Thank you and hope the app will serve you well!
A par above the rest.

Very good app

Hey, you should always be getting the locations that are nearest to you, I think the reason you get locations in CA is because you already unlocked everything else that's closer:) Hopefully you'll have more locations closer to your area as the app grows!
