A really interesting take on a JRPG battle engine
I definitely enjoyed playing through this game. I can't read the language but I can get by, by recognizing the moves' names and MP cost. There is a nice big variety of spells and other moves in the game. Perhaps the one that costs 20MP is too overpowered, though it's probably intended to be that way (and only available late in the game). That 90% protection spell is oh so important in many battles. On any given round you only have four of your moves available, which a person might find frustrating ("that spell was not there when I really needed it"), but I think it is another really interesting quirk of this game and not a bad thing. The game seems well tested and balanced; it often gets challenging but never got so tough it was frustrating. If a boss was too tough, I needed another level or two (and/or a small change to strategy). Anyway, I highly recommend this game.
