Pointless App

You’re printed to download this app as you enter the Van Gogh Immersive Experience. There are two functions: information about the art highlighted in the exhibit which is already available in the placards in the exhibit. Then there’s a QR code reader to supposedly get more information by scanning QR codes in the exhibit. However this leads to a form to register and it’s obligatory to opt in to receive emails. Once the form is submitted, there’s was not way off this screen and I was never able to use the QR code.

What an experience!

Loved the show! App doesn’t work.

Disappointing exhibition and pointless app

The exhibition itself was poorly executed and definitely not worth the price. Story telling, visual quality of exhibits and animations were disappointing. Visually not very thought through. The high price was not justified at all.
The app shows the text displayed in the exhibition, no additional functionality. Not worth downloading.

Mediocre & overpriced

Went to the ‘immersive experience’, it certainly didn’t feel immersing. The displays of the pictures were just digital printouts displayed as though they were actual paintings. Well ok but… The best area, which was a great idea if it had been done better was a collection of about 4, 3 dimensional representations of Van Gough’s more famous paintings, the room with table & chair for example. It was all too obvious however that someone had made trips to Ikea for some of the furnishings which (call me cynical) detracted a little fro the ‘magic’ of the creation. Also someone might have felt the need, after feeling somewhat fleeced by the ticket price for what was actually on offer, to climb over the velvet rope barrier & reposition the chair, table & some objects to more closely represent the painting. We went to another part of the exhibition to a room advertised for 3D screen goggles to discover that was an additional exorbitant fee. This was not clear in the original advertising or entrance. We didn’t try it on principle & not being very wealthy or ‘easy prey’ tourists. I admire people who do creative & entrepreneurial things & like to support some ventures when I can but this time I can’t help the word ‘Rip-Off’ hammering to mind.

Great app to accompany your visit

This app simply opens the text you can read on the wall. I found this useful as I could scan the code and sit elsewhere to read the text.
👍🏻

Quite useless unfortunately

The app can scan QR codes that bring up the exact same text as the exhibition text panels. Why could this be of any use?

Tickets ??

Downloaded app to access tickets and can’t find them Not a user friendly app hope the show is better !!
