Sneaker Tracker now allows you to capture notes about your shoes and about your workouts. All Notes You can access all of your notes from the top of the Shoe and Workout tabs, or you can find the specific shoe or workout and see the notes assigned to them. • When you are viewing notes, there are a few filters you can add to better find the note you are looking for. • You can filter down by date range, by shoe, by workout, or by shoe maker. You can create notes in four ways. 1. On the main screen with the center add button. 2. On the All Notes screen. 3. When you are viewing a specific shoe. 4. When you are viewing a specific workout. Favorite Workouts • You can now set a workout as a favorite and your shoes keep track of the number of favorited workouts. Miscellaneous updates and Bug Fixes • The Retired Shoe section has been revamped. They are now in their own screen and grouped by Shoe maker. • Workout and Shoe icons sizes has subtly been increased • There was a bug related to how distance was being calculated. That has been fixed and that same fix improved now distance, calories, and total time for each shoe is calculated.

Happy 2024! In this update you will find new interactive widgets. I have two interactive widgets, here is what they do. Interactive Widgets -Shoe Preview widget. This is similar to the non-interactive widgets, however you can now loop between all non-retired shoes in your inventory. If you choose the large widget, you will also get a recent usage chart for each shoe. -For Bonus users: Workout Preview widget. This is a widget that allows you to scroll through your most recent workouts and assign them right from the widget. On the large variant, you see extra stats and charts comparing this workout to the rest of your workouts. Also in this update, I have applied a major UI rethink of the watchOS app. This new UI works better with the digital crown, watchOS 10's UI paradigms, and in my opinion feels better to navigate around. I still consider the watchOS app a public alpha, please let me know any feedback you have on the direction of the watch app. Each major release I intend to add more functionality. Miscellaneous updates and Bug Fixes -Added a new Run vs Walk vs Hiking chart. -The timeline for multi-Shoe charts now starts at the beginning of the primary shoe. -Fixed a bug where tapping on the non-interactive widget only opened Sneaker Tracker, instead of also opening that selected shoe or workout. -There has been a nagging issue where widgets haven't been updating as expected. I believe that has now been fixed! -In settings, there is now a new tool to remove duplicate workouts. While these duplicate workouts are rare in my testing, they appear to be possible and this is a tool to get rid of them.

The Connectivity Release Many developers target releasing big updates in September after a long summer of work. That was the goal this year and here we are, I have a huge list of features I've wanted to build for a long time. iPad and WatchOS Versions • With Apple adding HealthKit to iPad, Sneaker Tracker has been updated to support iPad as well. I've made a few UI tweaks so that Sneaker Tracker can scale up to the iPad size. This scaling also fully supports all sizes possible on iPad, including sizing for Stage Manager. • And I've added Apple Watch support as well! Right now the big feature for watchOS is the inclusion of Sneaker Tracker widgets and complications. • Sneaker Tracker on both of these platforms are very much 1.0 and will have a lot more work being done to them in the next several months. But I wanted to get this out now to take advantage of this next feature... iCloud Sync • Stating the obvious, with the inclusion of an iPadOS and WatchOS app for Sneaker Tracker, iCloud syncing between all of your devices makes a ton of sense. And so it is done, iCloud sync has been added to Sneaker Tracker. There is now a little cloud icon on each of your tabs indicating the current cloud sync status. Background Workout Sync • Yet another big feature I have wanted to implement since the beginning is Background Workout syncing. Sneaker Tracker can now connect and create data while in the background. Whenever a new workout is created in the background, Sneaker Tracker will send you a notification about it. Notifications • With Background workout sync, I have added a few notifications to let you know what is going on in the background. Specifically, you'll get alerted when new workouts are detected and when a shoe is automatically assigned to a workout. Default Shoe - Last Used Shoe • For bonus users, you can now set the Last Used Shoe as your default shoe. This pairs nicely with the background syncing so you can stay on top of your inventory of shoes and defaults assigned. Misc Updates and Bug Fixes • Fixed a bug where Bulk Actions in the recents tab would still appear after all unlogged workouts are gone. • Added an option to *not* scan for each specific workout types. These are all enabled by default. • I've added a rounded corner effect to the Sheet windows on iPhone. This was a cool effect I stumbled upon recently and I decided to add it in as a final feature of the 1.9 UI revamp.

Description of Sneaker Tracker

Sneaker Tracker is built to help you track the mileage of your sneakers! In case you didn’t know, I sure didn’t not too long ago, you should replace your running shoes between 300 and 500 miles of use. Your shoes cushion your body from the impact of running, but eventually this cushion wears out and your body will bear the full impact of each run. This app exists because I didn’t feel like handwriting every single workout I did and how many miles I ran. Instead, I wanted my Apple Watch and iPhone to help me out. And so here it is, Sneaker Tracker! By default, this app will allow you to manually log workouts. And if you give it permission, Sneaker Tracker will watch for new workouts you log into the Health app. Whenever you log a workout, you should assign it to the shoe you used. From there the app will keep record of your milage and send you notifications when you reach your replacement range. Terms of Use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

Reviews of Sneaker Tracker

  • Highly recommended

I decided it was time to get “real” shoes in my quest to lose weight through walking. As such I realized I needed to track the miles in those shoes to replace when completely broken down. Searching the App Store, I found Sneaker Tracker. This app has done all it vows to do allowing me to monitor my shoes as I walk off the weight. I am in my third pair of shoes and can track all my miles. About a month ago a little gremlin raised its ugly head and the app became unresponsive. I checked/did what I could with no luck. I reached out to the developer about my issue who was so responsive and diligently worked on my issue until corrected. The developer was able to track the issue and was in constant contact with me to resolve the problem. The app was quickly updated to negate the issue. I appreciate the developer’s assistance and responsiveness. The app issue was quickly resolved and I am back monitoring my shoe mileage on my walking journey.

    Developer Response

Thank you for sharing your bug report with me last month and I'm always happy to help! And congrats on all of the hard work you've put into yourself and it is an honor that my app has served a role in your hard work.
  • I’m confused how this app works

    Developer Response

Thanks for the feedback! This is valid criticism and I will work on improving the introductory experience in the next few months.
  • Easily the best shoe tracking app!

I tried four different apps for tracking shoe usage and this one was by FAR the best! Some apps only let you enter workouts manually, and some only let you select running workouts from Apple Health, but this app lets you enter workouts manually or by selecting a running, walking, or hiking workout from Apple Health. Plus, if you have some old shoes that you tracked manually or with a different app, this app lets you set the “initial miles” when adding a shoe. It also has an intuitive and nice looking UI, and is very usable even without in-app purchases, although I was happy to pay the small in-app purchase price to remove ads and reward the developer for making a great app.
