Hi wiredup85, we’re sorry you’ve had trouble with our stair stringer calculations and disappointed you didn’t contact our support team first—we’re here to help. Our app has been around for years with tens of thousands of happy users worldwide, and it relies on extremely precise decimal calculations in millimetres. So, an inch or two is quite a material discrepancy in the calculations. For context, all calculations in the back end occur to an accuracy greater than 0.0000000000039 of an inch before rounding to what you see, which may be 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, or 1/64 of an inch depending on your settings. We take your assertion that the measurements are out by an inch or two very seriously. This is the first time we’ve encountered such a report, so it’s possible you’re using a different construction approach that the app isn’t currently set up for. We’re open to improving the app and adding alternative methods as needed, but we haven’t received any similar feedback recently.
