  • Efficient but overpriced

This app is very useful for clearing through photos and really does make it a lot more casual. It’s easy to use and takes the the stress out of managing all the photos I’ve taken over the years.

The downfall is it’s pricing. It’s simple plan is £3.99 per week and is ‘plus’ plan is £6.99 per week. This is absolutely absurd for such a simple application. There are apps out there which will do the same job for much cheaper, albeit they don’t have the “swiping” method that this one does.

For the customer, I’d recommend having a look elsewhere before committing to this app, or take advantage of the 3 day trail and clear through as many as you can in that time.

For the corporate/shareholders, I’d recommend lowering your prices to something more appropriate. Something around the £7.99 per month would be far more reasonable for an application like this.

Overall, it’s a good application but as the title says, it’s overpriced for what it is.

Hello, Thank you for your detailed feedback. We're glad to hear that you find Swipewipe useful and efficient in managing your photos. We understand your concerns about the pricing. Our pricing model is designed to support the continuous development and maintenance of the app, while also providing a free version for users who prefer not to subscribe. The subscription fee helps us keep the app ad-free and without limitations for our premium users. However, we're always open to feedback and we'll certainly take your suggestion into consideration. We're constantly working on improving our app and making it more affordable and accessible to our users. Remember, you can always use the free version of the app which displays easily skippable ads and only experiences a temporary limitation after a month of use. Thank you again for your feedback. We appreciate your support and understanding. Best, Paul
  • Storage Life Saver

I normally can’t stand these kinds of apps, because they are almost always very pushy with their subscription models. HOWEVER:

Swipewipe has been SUCH a lifesaver. I have saved several gigabytes of storage space on my phone since using swipewipe. It’s fun and convenient to go through my photos this way, it’s as addicting as TikTok. The app limits you to one month at a time, plus your “On This Day,” and after that an eight-hour cooldown is required before you can do more swiping. Personally, this is okay to me! I have thousands of photos, and keeping things bite-sized is a lot less overwhelming than going through my photos manually.

The app is not annoying about subscribing, either. You’ll get a pop up now and then, like after swiping. But you can conveniently close it. Not a fan of the weekly subscription model and I would prefer monthly, but I’d say subscribing to this app would definitely be worth it! If you’re on the fence, get it. You won’t regret it! Gamify cleaning up your photos app.

  • Game changer!

It just WORKS. Really intuitive and I love that it’s broken down into months to make the task less onerous. Managed to free up nearly 100GB and delete over 22,000 photos in about a week while just taking a nice little trip down memory lane. Hope the pricing stays the same as the current model means once a year I can pay for a week and tidy up annually! Highly recommended.

  • Fun & does what it’s meant to :)

Made a chore fun! Turns out when I go through photos I get rid of about half on average 😅 should free us some space and make it easier to access the photos worth looking at :) and it’s fun to revisit old times!

Would be cool if we could have some tags to add as we go - i often think oh right I was supposed to follow up on that when I see a picture while I’m swiping, but I forget. We can bookmark but catagories would be cool (for me it’s - important documents, clothes inspo, nails inspo, craft ideas, stuff I wanted to do etc)

And the other thing is I often have a photo shoot so there will be like 8 almost identical photos so I only want to keep the best one - but it’s hard to compare to pick the best one with swipe - would be cool if you could detect when the photos are very similar and visualize side by side or something!

  • amazing

great app honestly. within just a few hours already deleted 500+ items from my camera roll as they are completely random. and i also get little memories too from them. i will definitely keep this app and carry on doing this at the end of every month as a clean out as its great for clearing space on your phone or icloud. would definelty recommend and is perfect for quick and easy yes or no. 5 STAR

  • Scroll scroll…

I really love this app, I just don’t love the new update. It’s saved me 27GB so far by going through old photos and videos everyday.

The new update however, has made it so you have to scroll down to reach photos videos and videos from that day a year or more ago. The app lags when you scroll, you have to find the trash button each time. It could have just stayed with the swiping - that was such a time saver and loaded so much faster.

  • Really bummed

I don’t usually go out of my way to leave reviews for apps but I was SHOCKED by the changes made in the latest update. The app is called SWIPEWIPE, and from mid January until now I have loved being able to look back on a day swiping through the photos to see which ones I would like to keep, that is until today… In the last update the daily swipe feature has been removed and switched with a “feed” feature where you scroll through and click a trash button underneath the photos you want to remove… I HATE this feature, not only is it not as “FUN” as the old swipe method but it takes much longer to go through your days photos… Ideally the option to either have the swipe feature or the feed feature would be provided. Or worst case scenario the deleted photos would collapse on your feed so it was easier to scroll… I had paid for a years subscription to the app up front and now I am a bit bummed I had done that. I do have to say, the calendar feature where you can “save” your streak is nice because I like being able to go back to a day I missed.

  • Great!

EDIT: just seen on your IG you’re bringing the swipes back - good!

Been using this app for a little while now and have saved over 20GB of space from easily getting rid of old photos and videos. The latest update for “on this day” is annoying as the swipe interface was so simple to use but the feed is just clunky and not as smooth as the swipe function. Plus, “Swipewipe”… maybe keep the function that you literally named the app after

  • Update has ruined this app

Swiping, or pressing ‘delete’ or ‘keep’, was the selling point here. It offered a quick way of reviewing photos and keeping the best ones. I had started to use the ‘on this day’ feature religiously, and felt I was really making progress in curating and organising the thousands of photos on my phone.

Now, it’s changed to a feed of photos, which is somehow just much, much worse. Also, the feed becomes very slow towards the end, and sometimes the app crashes, losing all the progress you’ve made so far. Essentially, the update has ruined the app’s selling point.

  • So simple, so easy, so cool

UPDATE: bumping down to three stars from five. The swipe feature has been removed from the On This Day feed. Huh? That’s quite literally the only function I use with the app. Quickly swiping or wiping in OTD has been the fastest and most efficient way to simultaneously see past media AND get rid of unwanted items. I’ll hold on to the app in hopes that feature returns but if it doesn’t I’m afraid I’ll have to find another option.
    **********
I’ve been scouring the App Store since the iPhone 4 (the best iPhone let’s be honest) for an app like this to clean up my photos. Why oh why is there not something like this built into iOS? Answer me that? Swipewipe is an extremely simple, elegant and beautifully designed app that, get this, makes removing unwanted photos FUN to remove. There’s no bloat and no extra “features” like Google Photos. And the way they implement makes it easy to see progress. The on this day section is a delight and the main way I delete photos. 1-2 minutes a day and you’ll have a cleaner library. The only minor gripe — and it’s really not much of a gripe — is there’s no option to change the app icon. Not a huge fan of the icon color but that’s a personal preference, and a nice to have, more than anything.
