Reviews of M1Light

  • Cool 😎

I love this app but the only problem I have is I wish the colors would change immediately and work the same as the remote
  • A simple app

I think, for an inexpensive device, this app is “good enough”. The one thing that throws people off with this is that there’s one Bluetooth connection that just connects automatically when you open the app to find and control the device. But you go to the music portion and you’re like, “Uh, how do I pick music to play?”

Only the printed instructions that come with the device say you have to go to your Bluetooth settings and pick the second Bluetooth connection to M1, which separately controls the speaker. In iOS, you may need to go into the information about the second M1 Bluetooth connection and say it’s a speaker. Now you can go to your main music app, not this app, and tell it to play music to that speaker like you would any Bluetooth speaker or headphones. This app’s music section is solely for playing, pausing and skipping the music queued up in your music app.

Putting these basic instructions and even prompting to connect to the separate speaker in the music section of this app would probably relieve some of the confusion and make for a better experience.

Overall, though, it does what it needs to do and it’s nice there’s something for such an inexpensive device, which incidentally, puts out quite a light show. Would recommend.
  • App won’t connect

I don’t know how to connect my phone to the device there is no clear instructions on how so I’m not sure what the point of the app is if I can’t use it
