Taking inspiration from the success of mahjong soul, poker soul is a fun and accessible play money poker app with voice acting and characters.
It’s held back by a small player pool exacerbated by a glaring issue.
For some reason, the fast fold/zoom/zone mode, the game’s ranked mode where you earn rewards, is restricted to certain hours. There’s no clear reason for this restriction. Perhaps it’s to limit gambling addiction for its users (on a play money app?).
Unfortunately, it’s tied to a very inconvenient time slot for western users. Ranked is only open from 1am to 8am pacific time. Those users can never play ranked.
If this was changed to match your device time, or better yet, remove the time limit altogether, this would be a 5 star app.
As it stands, it will be hard to grow the player base with little reason for many of the users to invest time into the game.
