  • Worse than the website it replaced

The new app is much worse than the website it replaced.

    1. The app doesn’t stay logged in - every time I go back to it, I have to redo authentication. I’ve never been logged out of the website, even after multiple months.

    2. There’s too many interactions that I need to take within the app to see what I want to see. Too many stock images that serve no purpose. I just want a list of all the merchants I’ve been to, and my current points, all in one screen.

    3. I’m losing functionality with the app. I can’t even see a numeric count of how many points I have now, and how many points I’ve earned in my lifetime. I don’t want to have to look through all my stamp cards and count manually.

    4. Why do I need to download an app in the first place? The website worked perfectly fine, and honestly, this app just looks like a half-baked webview wrapper of that could have been a website. Seems like every business is moving to apps so they can collect more user data, which makes me trust this service even less.

Having an app is fine. Forcefully making your users use it, while not addicting additional functionality (let alone taking features away!) is a huge trust breaker.
