The app works great at communicating with the ECU and letting you tune your bike, adjust parameters, and monitor things.
Every now and again when they release an update to either the app or to the ECU soft/firmware, which they do sometimes, it can act a little funky.
Most recently their update changed the names of all ECUs, requiring you to forget the old named ECU in your device settings, and then connect to the new one. It took me all of five minutes to figure it out and get paired back up.
My main gripe and the reason I’m not giving five stars despite my love for the ECU and how it works with my Honda Monkey, is due to lack of customer support. ARacer is in Asia and has no actual support system in the states. Their dealers are usually of 0 help. ARacer’s official support solution is a Facebook group….I'm not on Facebook and I’m not going to create an account just for customer support with 12 hour lapses in communication.
Although most of the issues I’ve experienced, which have been far and few in between, have been resolved by “turn it off and on again,” most older folks using these ECUs don’t have the technical expertise that I do and I understand their frustration. But to be honest if you’re gonna get that frustrated over an ECU you should just run carbureted bikes and not worry about EFI and all the things that come with it, in my OPINION.
I think if they had a legit US support center that you could email or call that would really improve the customer experience.
