  • Now free? But I paid not too long ago …

I recall this game not being cheap for a mobile game and it’s now completely free? For those of use who did pay for it, does it still include ads? And do we get all of the in-app purchases?

    Hoping the developer can respond.

    Developer Response

If you purchased the full game previously, you can still play the full game (including classic quick play) without any mandatory ads. You can optionally watch ads for a benefit if you choose to.

  • Great road rash type of thrill ride

Man idk what is up with all these comments but ppl are tripping. This game is great and a lot like a modern road rash. It can get just as chaotic. It’s nice that it has different kinds of missions and task and a skill tree. It randomizes each okay through for different turns and enemies. Weapons are wild neat and can be brutal. The 30 frames per second is no longer an issue when you go to the options and switch to 60 frames. The controls on staying on the road are no longer an issue when you go to options and turn on road assist. I had zero issues going off the road unless it was MY own fault. I also noticed it has game pad support but haven’t tested that just yet. Great game that’s worth your time and money.

  • Solid Port

Edit: The devs basically fixed the 30 fps issue I mentioned below. They also added another graphics mode (Best) that brings the game much closer to the console versions with smoother animations and other enhancements. This is now a super solid port of the original game. Nice job and thanks!

First off, I just want to say that this is not as bad as the other reviews had stated. Now let’s get specific. I played this on a 2020 iPad Pro with a PS4 controller. Positives This game showed correct prompts for the PS4 controller which is always nice. The devs made this a free to try game, which is a really great model that I wish was more common, especially when compared to free to play. There are some graphics options so that lower end devices can be better accommodated. Performance There is a 30 fps cap that seems to be pretty consistent on my iPad Pro. I didn’t notice much of a performance difference when going from Low to Ultra. There are actually less stutters than I experienced when playing this game on the XBox One due to the stronger CPU in these high end iPads. Graphics This is a mobile port that has general accommodations made for much less performant devices, so expect low resolutions, very short draw distances, and far fewer key frames in most of the animations, etc. I would probably play this on low, just because there wasn’t a big difference between ultra and low, but low would probably help with thermals over a longer play session. Negatives (Feedback for the Developers) I love that you ported this over to mobile, since this is one of my favorite games (I played tons of Road Rash 64 when I was little). However, the 30 fps cap is real bummer. First Descenders comes out with their port having a 30 fps cap and now your game has it. Here is my way of thinking about it. Similar to PC games, mobile games have to run on a huge number of devices, but yet, we almost never get comprehensive options like PC’s get, and that’s a shame. So here’s my wish list for a much better experience. A framerate toggle that contains the following minimum options, 30, 40 (for Pro Motion), 60, Unlocked. We’d also need a framerate counter to see which is appropriate on our devices. A resolution selector that is separate from other graphics presets would also be nice. I always prefer a low resolution with a high framerate vs the other way around. Thanks again for porting this game over though, it’s still a lot of fun as is. PS: Could you do a Series X & S optimized version on the XBox?

  • The controls are a bit rough.

I was very excited for this game. I’ve played it on both PS4 and Switch and I love it! It is easily one of my go to games to blow off steam. Playing normal I can easily beat the game on console, but here I struggle to even make it to the first boss.

The game does run at a pretty amazing 60 frames almost always, very impressive. I also love that a decent portion of the game is free so you can try it out without risk.

First and most important, it is an auto accelerator. I didn’t realize how much of my game play is based on letting off the accelerator and coasting to regain control. Not here, you are petal to the metal or braking. You can hold down on the d-pad to slow down, but then you can’t turn if you’re holding back. This causes me to go off road more than I’d like to admit and then have to struggle to get back.

I also felt like catching up to people was way harder. They rubberband to you easy, but even making up a couple of feet on them can be a struggle. Especially with cars in the elimination races.

I also saw one bug where some of the shortcuts cause you bike to slowly slide sideways until you veer off road and crash.

Overall it’s a great start that is a bit tough to adjust to. But that’s expected with a mobile app.

Last century I paid $96 for Road Rash 3.
Honestly it was a good investment; taught me a healthy fear of motorcycles well before I was old enough to buy one thanks to all those life flashing before your eyes moments.

This is maybe the 2nd or 3rd best version of Road Rash I’ve played.
$14 for the full game in 2022 is an absolute steal.
Be warned, this is a very challenging game to begin with. Grab a controller, become mayhem to survive the mayhem; there’s rooftop riding and cars falling out of the sky for no apparent reason.
No iap or ads either, which we should support when we can, especially for such decent throwbacks like this one.

If you don’t have a sega megadrive, then this is the best Road Rash
