Description of Avocado

Avocado allows you to take a photo of your food to get calories and macros. Calorie counting and diet tracking made easy.  What makes this app unique is it weighs your food for you through new camera technology (accurate depth sensors). No need for a scale! There are now ~1000 foods supported! Nutritional data comes from the USDA. For best results, center food in the camera guide and take the photo straight above. Macros and calories are calculated through depth data, so a straight-on photo is best. Feel free to let me know what I can improve or what foods you want included - jzooms@gmail.com

  • Doesn’t open

    When I saw this app
I was so excited. But when I signed in and turned on camera it wouldn’t let me open the app.
  • Doesn't work

I was excited for this app. However after trying to use it. It would not recognize the food and did not log it. I tried several times with simple foods like an apple and it just didn't work. I'm disappointed

    Developer Response

Hey Hazardcat, It certainly should work for apples, so this is a bug. I’ll train a better recognition model for next update. Furthermore, I’m aware of a bug where it hangs at the “trouble identifying food.” If that’s what you experienced, I’m looking into it. Sorry about that - I will make the next version better. Thanks for trying it out, and hope the next version works for you!
  • Unreliable

Works sometimes but great when it works

    Developer Response

Working on improving it and adding some quality of life features. You can reach out directly to me at jzooms@gmail.com if you have specific features you'd like added. Thanks for using Avocado!
