  • Amazing for learning!

this is a great app for learning the abacus, it clearly states how to use it and has tons of free practise exercises. The feedback I have is I wish it enforced correct finger movements more, otherwise its great.
  • Update suggestion

Nice app, but it would be great if you could tap the bead to move instead of sliding it, it’s inconvenient on the phone than a physical abacus. PS if you do I’ll recommend to friends
  • Real life training

I was so impressed with this app that I purchased it. I love practicing using the abacus and this app really delivers excellent training. They explained the friends concept with small and large compliments and cover addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Correct finger movements are taught as well and it teaches you how to transition from a physical abacus to using mental math - calculating all the math in your head. This is something that should be taught from a young age. Just like reading, math can be learned as soon as they start speaking and earlier.

    I have no complaints.

  • Embarrassment no more

I always imagined that Abacus was simply a mechanical calculator. I have learned it is much more. I have always struggled with mental arithmetic and was surprised at the insights into arithmetical operations the app has provided. The Abacus develops mental arithmetic ability. I am very much enjoying using the app and developing this important skill.

  • Just what I was looking for!

This has been a great tool already with just a couple of days. I’m using this for foundational learning as well as practice but I don’t always have my soroban with me. I do think there are some typos that make it sometimes a hair confusing (top/upper number) I’m pretty sure means leftmost number. I’d love to help clean up some typos if you guys are interested! It would be an awesome way for me to learn as well since I’d probably be reading most of the copy used in this app. Anyways thanks for the app and I’ll continue learning! Looking forward to mastering this skill and improving my brain game!

Apparently I never hit send but I have some additions anyway! Still love this app but when I’m practicing, the layout has a black bar that grows with the soroban. I’d rather that black bar be on top because I keep pulling the Notification Center down instead of pulling down the 5 bead. Please remove the black bar or move it up too where it will actually be more of a feature than a hinderance lol.

  • Learn it right

If you want to learn to use a soroban, you can get an app. If you want to learn to use it RIGHT, get this one. It teaches how practicing the CORRECT motions is the key to success. Unlike other apps, it also teaches multiplication and division.

  • Mental Abacus

As I work through the lessons I find myself, in a grocery store, adding and subtracting mentally without the abacus. I’m more aware of the numbers around me
