Frustrating App
While Tunnel Carwash in Christchurch provides an excellent wash, their app is a major letdown. It's as if they've gone out of their way to make the digital experience as cumbersome as possible.
Cons:
1. No Apple Pay support: In 2024, this is inexcusable for any payment app.
2. Forced card loading: The app requires you to load your card details, raising serious security concerns.
3. Questionable security: There's no assurance that they're using a reputable provider to manage sensitive financial information.
4. Inconvenient on-site use: Instead of streamlining the process, you have to manually generate a code and type it into the machine when you're there. What's the point of an app if it doesn't save time?
The Tunnel Carwash app manages to be both pointless and frustrating. It adds unnecessary steps to what should be a simple process, completely defeating the purpose of having an app in the first place.
If you enjoy great car washes but also value your time and digital security, stick to traditional payment methods at Tunnel Carwash. The wash itself is worth it, but this app needs a complete overhaul before it's worth downloading.

Doesn’t record usage history.
Poorly thought through and has put me off using them
So this app won’t allow me pay without loading a card. I can’t easily purchase just a card. They won’t sell me a card at the car wash. I mean what a joke!

Easy to use app reward system is great and I enjoy the game that is in the app to.
