A few years ago I bought an app called PhotoExif, which enabled me to record my settings when shooting film (lens, aperture, shutter speed, GPS, etc). Unfortunately it has since been pulled from the App Store, which left me looking for alternatives.
Thankfully, Analogshooter does that job mostly. I say ‘mostly’ because PhotoExif also had a desktop companion app that took the metadata and wrote it to the scanned files. I’m guessing having to upkeep a smartphone app and desktop app led to the developer giving up support for it.
So while Analogshooter doesn’t handle the writing of EXIF, one hopes its simplicity will make it easier to keep in existence.
Instead, the user can refer to the data in Analogshooter and then manually enter this information into the LensTagger plugin for Lightroom to handle the EXIF writing. This is of course a more long-winded workaround but until another app comes along to replace the functionality of PhotoExif, this is as good as it gets.
Thanks for making it!
