A BIG update for the BIG screen - Rostou! is coming to the iPad! Everything you know and love about the app, now in a larger format. Using the iPad is ideal for browsing your collection of findings, editing your friend’s findings, or reading up on mushrooms before venturing out into the forest. All of your data is synced between iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, so you can pick and choose when to use which device. We’re also adding multi-selection filters to the guide! This long-requested feature allows you to select multiple colours, habitats, or months of growth in search of the right species. Finally, we squashed a couple of bugs that appeared when running the app on iOS 17. If you are running the latest operating system, you can display the map as a satellite, to get a better idea of where you found mushrooms in the past. We hope you’re enjoying the autumn mushroom picking season - we can’t wait for wood blewits to appear!

You can now have a shared collection of mushroom findings between your friends and family! Each finding can be added to a shared album, accessible to multiple iCloud users. This allows you to identify sighted mushrooms together, brag to friends about what you found, or build a map of findings you can all use! Shared albums are synced over iCloud and users can add, change or delete findings from them. The changes will be reflected on your device, and that includes the Apple Watch! And if you don’t want to share the location of that secret morel spot (we understand), you can keep it in your private collection. Apart from sharing, we also added 4 new species: Hygrophorus eburneus, Hygrophorus hypothejus, Hygrophorus lucorum and Hygrophorus penarius. Finally, we made lots of improvements behind the curtain, fixing numerous bugs. This is a big update that gets Rostou! ready for the mushroom hunting season. We hope you are all enjoying spring ascomycetes and wish you happy foraging!

There’s never enough mushroom species in the guide, so here are 4 more! The previous update also contained 3 bugs. That’s ok. Did you know some countries allow the sale of mushrooms if they have less than 3 worm holes in them? Anyway, we found the bugs and squashed them. - Added new species: Tricholoma terreum, Pluteus salicinus, Echinoderma asperum, Hemileccinum depilatum - Fixed incorrect size of the compass dial on devices running iOS15 - Fixed distance from finding not refreshing when the finding location was edited - Fixed images in mushroom detail not resetting when another mushroom is opened - Under the hood changes to make the app more efficient - Updated screenshots on the App Store

A nice new update! Many of us are waiting for the first spring mushrooms - the season is about to begin! In the meantime, we've prepared an app update that brings a number of improvements: - The finding screen now shows your distance to the finding along with an arrow showing which way to go. This works on both iPhone and Apple Watch. So when in the woods, you can just turn towards the right location and follow your nose :-) - Widgets! You can now launch the app directly from your iPhone lock screen or Apple Watch face. - We added 4 new species, this time focusing on lookalikes: Paxillus rubicundulus, Cantharellus pallens, Chlorophyllum olivieri, Leucoagaricus leucothites. - We shook off small bugs and one slug from the code We wish you a full basket of morels!
