I’ve travelled and stayed with Kindred over 10 times and it’s my default mode of travel. I zoom with guests before approving them, and it’s been great to have a place that feels more like home when I travel. Recommend.brjalcnnsa
Great concept doesn’t work well yet
Was really excited by this concept and I think it has potential. However trying to book a weekend in LA where they have tons of inventory revealed issues with the app design. People take days to respond to booking requests and I have now been turned down 8 times over the last week. No one has time to spend over a week trying to find trip

Hard to filter for specific needs
I really wish you could filter search results for more than just # of bedrooms and workstations and whether a home is pet friendly. I mostly hope they add a “kid friendly” or “family home” option. I downloaded this app after seeing social media ads about swapping homes with other families so you don’t have to worry about traveling with toys, books, etc. on long trips. In all my searches, I haven’t seen a single home with an obvious kid’s room, but I’m hoping they are there! Maybe they’re decorated in a way that’s hidden? If so, how do I find them? I would also love to flag for potential guests in my home that it’s awesome for kids, but maybe not ideal if you’re traveling with a bunch of adults. I hope the developers make it more personalizable so we can find good matches.Show lessAbba an

I’ve booked two different homes now and have found out 2 days before and 1 month before my trip that the hosts have cancelled my stay. There’s not many options as replacements on the platform, and obviously hotel prices go up on closely approaching dates.
Support has been helpful, but I don’t get the feeling hosts are liable at all for cancelling on their visitors.Show lessmissa!
Great in theory but not so much IRL
In theory, this is an amazing service. But so far, 1) I’ve had nearly every host magically change their availability after I’ve requested a stay. 2) There aren’t nearly enough homes available on the platform in the places I’m interested & for the dates I need. I’ll get it one more try and if the same thing happens then I’ll be done. Maybe it’ll be better in a year or so. I would love to see more people of color on the platform because I have a sneaky suspicion I’m getting declined because I am one and majority of the hosts are pale.Show lessTylerDavinci
