This is an absolutely must for anybody wishing to spend time on Route 66. I have used this on every leg of our journey and found it an invaluable. Don’t be fooled by imitations, use the real thing. They have spent a lot of time vetting everything on their app.Studpuppu
This is the Ultimate Rt66 Travel App
I used this app to easily and successfully navigate Rt66 from it’s beginning in Chicago all the way to St Louis. It took me 2 days to travel and I didn’t miss a turn. It certainly was worth every cent. The app kept me on course the entire time and I saw all the stops one would like to see. I don’t think it would have been possible to stay on Rt66 without it. When I finish the rest of the trip, I’ll certainly use Route 66 Ultimate Guide again. So worth it. Thanks for such a great app.Show lessGaryM420
Terrible app & support
Traveling today from Chicago to Litchfield. When I got to Joliet (my first stops after Chicago) it said nothing about passing the sites I wanted to see, not knowing the area I hadn’t realized that I passed them. I had to retrace my route to get to the first one, a 20 minute drive. I then programmed the stops in Apple Maps and used that to navigate to them.
Stopped at the Route 66 Diner in Joliet (which isn’t actually on Route 66). I paused the app while was having lunch. When I went to restart it the app said, “go 1/4 mile to the light then turn left.” The light was less than 200 feet, and it was a right turn. After that the app didn’t update my location, it just kept repeating “go 1/4 mile…”. Every so often it would also say that it recorded me stopping at a sight, even when there was nothing around. I tried everything to reset the navigation but it just wouldn’t work.
I contacted support and their response was, “ Sorry, but some features may not function properly, or are limited, as we are in the off-season and this is when we are enhancing the app and adding new features. “ So, ok, this is the off season, but people still do 66 in the off-season (ran into a few today). They should not be releasing updates that don’t work, off-season or not. Finally, “navigation” isn’t a “feature” it’s the main reason to use the app.
This app is worthless. I’ve opted to enter all of my stops in Apple Maps, then navigate to them while keeping an eye out for Route 66 signs. It’s a lot of work, but at least I won’t get lost.
What should have been an easy, enjoyable first day was a long nightmare. Got to the hotel 3 hours late, missed several spots because they had closed, and had to take the interstate on the last leg to get to the hotel at a decent time. Don’t waste your time with this app.Show lessPaHiker
Customer service, WOW!!!
I downloaded the app the other day and couldn’t get logged in. I started a text stream with support and after about 2 hours of us trying different things like, deleting the app, changing WI-FI settings, reinstalling the app on my iPhone 13 Pro Max, support said that they’d pass the issue over to the back room guys and they’d get on the issue. I’ve been told similar and had to wait weeks for a solution. Well, Tuesday morning I received an email from support saying the issue had been resolved, they had corrected the issue!!! Overnight they did that!

Internet connection
Couldn’t create a password because it said that I needed to have an internet connection. Well the app downloaded so I must have a connection. When I tried to do it on my tablet (on Wi-Fi) it said that my email was already being used for an account. App support would not let me open a ticket because of course, I don’t have a password.Show lesshikinfool
Could use some work
Initially gave 5 stars. After using for 10 days had some problems. Contacted support and within 2 days, they were corrected. Problem now is Passport crashes app every time you open it. Also QR code for
Stamps not working ( when I found someone who actually had it to scan-neither old or new code worked.). Also new paid upgrade doesn't work after downloading new updates and it was offered. Hope it gets fixed. Unfortunately my trip will be ending in a few days. Could also use a tutorial on how everything works.Show lessHoudia
