Guardhat technology is built with a single purpose: to solve real-world industrial problems, with a human-centric perspective. The Guardhat iOS app works with the Guardhat Platform and Guardhat Solutions to turn your phone into a cutting-edge tool for work safety and collaboration.
The Guardhat app provides core safety functionality including SOS, fall detection, worker-down, proximity detection, geofence violation and evacuation alerts to workers on the frontline as well as their support, engineering and/or emergency response teams anywhere in the world. It also comes with full audio-visual calling, multi-channel, dynamic PTT, and secure media capture and storage – to make hazardous work easier and faster even as it makes work safer.
The app is a compatible frontline device for use with the Guardhat Lone Worker solution, which provides additional automated alerts and functionality around check-ins and visibility for those who work alone, distributed, or in remote locations to ensure they get home safe at the end of each shift. Gas detection & analytics features within the Guardhat Worker Condition Monitoring solution are also compatible with the app to track wearable/mobile gas detector status and alerts in real-time to create and manage a connected fleet of smart detectors to prevent exposure events and respond to incidents more swiftly and effectively.
The Guardhat App harnesses the full power of sensors and communication capabilities built into the iPhone to provide critical safety and productivity features to frontline workers. For continuous protection, the app requires permission to be granted via iOS settings to use the camera, microphone, location, Bluetooth and local network, even while the app is in the background (i.e. Always On). Ensuring privacy and keeping control in the hands of the user are guiding principles for the Guardhat app. The list of features and required privacy settings (iOS Settings > Privacy) are provided below to help you decide how you would use the app.
1. Lone worker timed check-ins (uses location for emergency response, even while running in the background; “Always On” setting needed for Location)
2. AV Communications (uses local network even while running in the background; “Always On” setting needed for Local Network)
3. Incident management, including nearby worker alerts (uses location for emergency response, even while running in the background; “Always On” setting needed for Location)
4. Controlled access zoning, including evacuation, mustering and offline geofencing (uses location for emergency response, even while running in the background; “Always On” setting needed for Location)
5. Fall detection (uses location for emergency response, even while running in the background; “Always On” setting needed for Location)
6. Worker condition monitoring, including gas detection (uses location for emergency response, Bluetooth pairing with gas detectors to alert when high gas is detected, even while running in the background; “Always On” setting needed for Location and Bluetooth).
As the ecosystem of Guardhat device integrations grows, the Guardhat app will offer more functionality for new devices and to meet frontline worker needs as part of the leading platform covering the last mile to the frontline worker.
