Love it.

Love this there is so much I can do I love it when I have a problem with one of my birds all I have to do is find the month and see what happened or I can see my eggs and if I got less eggs form last week I can see why because I put in what that day was like in all love it. I hope if they ever update it i hope they do ancestry so i better keep track of who is related to who or who the sire was and if they won anything to improve my flock.

Long time user

Been a user since about 2021. I Love this app to track the ages and eggs from my mixed flock! Maybe in a future update we can have an option for photos to go into the birds gallery when updating individual photos, rather than only deleting and replacing the photo. I’d love to see my birds aging process under their current photo. I could go in and add it as a note, but that requires sifting through my past photos or the extra step of adding the photo twice. I also wish I had an option to pay a flat rate instead of a subscription

Thank you for the review! Adding new profile photos without deleting the old is definitely in the works. Also, I totally understand on the flat rate vs. subscription comment. Because an app like this, which is run by a single developer, requires continuous maintenance and improvement, subscription revenue is the only sustainable model. If you ever decide to pause or cancel please know your data is YOURS, it won't be deleted, and you can always download a copy. You are never locked in. Thanks for your long time support ❤️.

Highly recommend

This so far has been the best app I have tried for tracking my flock and eggs. It is customizable and allows tracking several different ways. When I submitted a support request my question was answered within minutes. I will continue to use this app. Well worth the money.

Fabulous App!

I would give Flockstar 10 stars if I could! I have never paid for app, until Flockstar. With chickens, quail, geese and Guinea there is no easier way to keep track of them all than using this app. The developer is AMAZING and interacts with its users to help develop the app that users really want. Thank you for sharing this app with us all!

Sad about new cost

We are new to backyard chickens and have used this app for a year. Very happy with features but can’t justify the cost now that they’re switching to subscription based option only. We only have 6 chickens so it’s not like we’re making money off of them. Wish they would add a much cheaper option for fewer flocks or something.

Exactly what I need!

I love this app! I use it every day. It works really well to track every thing I need to track with my flocks simply and easily. The premium version is well worth it. I do wish that the “quick logger” egg screen would remember the eggs you logged that day already and wouldn’t let you check the same hen twice in a day accidentally. I end up waiting til the end of the day to log my eggs so I don’t get confused with the count and have to go back and forth between the calendar and the quick logger screen.

User friendly

I like being able to keep track of expenses and cost per egg. Very user friendly. I do wish there was an “all time” tab to go along with weekly, monthly, yearly to see total expenses/cost per egg for the flock all time.

Love this app!

This is an amazing app, I love all of the features and how you can put pictures on file. The only things I wish that it had would be to already have a list of chicken breeds on the app so that we don’t have to type it out ourselves, just more confident. Another thing would be to add more species of birds, not just chickens. I would love to put my ducks and quail on there. Thank you! I will continue to use this app :)

Thanks so much for the review. I wanted to respond with some tips: 1) while there isn't a built in list of breeds, you can easily reuse any breeds you've already entered with the small lightning bolt icon to speed entry. 2) The default flock when you first start out is named "Chickens" but you can rename it to anything, and then create addition flocks to organize any way you wish. Lots of users are tracking all forms of poultry, I've even helped a user who was tracking pigs and cows in Flockstar 😆. Feel free to reach out to support@flockstarapp.com for any assistance!

Detailed & Intuitive

I’ve been using the app for almost three months now, and am very impressed at the developer’s attention and responsiveness! Love using an app that has active development and ongoing improvements.
We have six laying hens and are having fun tracking their eggs by individual. One of our chicks from this spring turned out to be a rooster so I marked him as an inactive member of the flock and recorded photos and dates to memorialize his being butchered and eaten. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Awesome app to record flock history and even the flock’s finances. 😅👍🏻

Update: I was temporarily an unhappy customer because there was a subscription/Apple billing issue but Brian the developer helped me and responded to my email quickly! Thank you Brian!
