  • Wanted to give it 5 stars but it won’t stay online

    I was really looking forward to playing against other people but that’s the weakness of this interesting and engaging game. Takes a while to find a player and then waiting for them to play can take a while. Like I said, good, fun game that can be even better. Update: I have a very fast home network but this game is almost always offline and requires daily updates. Too frustrating to keep this at 5 stars and what worse is when I went looking for help I was directed to a website that allows me to report bad words or make suggestions. Nothing that allows me to report my issue or as for help. Reduce to one star given the lack of support, game is always offline.

    Adding here that the dictionary is incredibly off, no idea what is or isn’t acceptable and adding in the awful animation, poor graphics, it’s hard to believe this is really a Disney game.

  • Buggy and difficult to move forward

    After playing through the story mode, the only real point to the game is to play the daily challenges and Blank’s Blitz. Blank’s Blitz is fine, but you have to earn stickers and letters to unlock new characters to be able to play with, but I’m at the point that the only thing I get is all duplicate stickers. I’m really tired of playing towards nothing.

    Another point of contention is that you NEVER get to go first when playing against the computer player. Once or twice, the computer has passed their turn to switch out tiles and I got to go first by process of elimination. Why not rotate it out, or better yet, let us decide if we want to go first or not. I don’t want to have to play a vs mode game. It takes too many days to get through a game with most people, because we have lives and aren’t all logged in at the same time and playing a contiguous game.

    As others have said, the game is buggy too. Between the times it freezes my iPad and iPhone requiring me to force quit, and other times it just locks up an M1 iPad and makes it behave like it’s running on dialup. I’m just about ready to uninstall the game based on these points. I’m holding out hope that it gets better.

  • Fun, but limited play

    ★ ★ ★ I love word games and I especially love word games that don’t focus on pay-to-win micro transactions. I quickly played through the entire game within a short time. Then a new level was added and I played through that one as well. My main complaint is that I’d like to see an in-game dictionary of some sort to show me a definition for words that the AI is playing, since I’m seeing a lot of abbreviations and proper nouns (which are generally not allowed in other word games of this nature). Additionally, I’d prefer to have the ability to choose which character I play with in the “story mode” levels, since there are several characters I haven’t been able to even see in action yet. I’ve only played a handful of PvP games and ⅔ of them end without being able to play to the last round. I’m not sure if its timing out from the other player not logging in to play or if they manually forfeited, so some sort of info as to how I won prematurely would be handy. ★ ★ ★ ★ UPDATED TO ADD A STAR! Every thing that I requested was implemented since I posted my original review. I’ll gladly add the fifth star if you can remove the hub with Dragon Sisu’s superpower that causes one of the tiles to freeze on screen, preventing me from interacting with anything until i have to force quit the app and relaunch.
