Use your device camera to capture the flashlight moving through the air. You can use a regular flashlight, but it works best with a small light that stands out against a dark, uncluttered background. You will have to test out different types of flashlights and ambient light conditions to find what works best for you. The app works best when you hold a flashlight at least 5 feet away.
