Description of Reckit

Say bye to all of the fake recs online. The best recs come from the friends you trust. Reckit is a handy tool for sharing, discovering, and saving recommendations with your friends, all in one place. Our experience focuses only on categories of fun: eats, drinks, music, podcasts, books, movies, TV shows, and travel. This isn't a reviews app. It's a practical form of social media for the things you love - all positivity. Here are a few things you can do on the app: - Share photos of your recs into the timeline feed - Showcase your personality through the recs collected on your profile page - DM your friends individually and in group chats to banter about recs - Search for helpful details on anything that’s possible to recommend, from restaurants, hotels, trail heads, and coffee shops to movies, shows, songs, and podcasts - Save your friends' recs to your personal to-do list and keep track of the recs you’ve discovered on Reckit

Reviews of Reckit

  • Can’t CREATE an account with email…

    …only with phone number.

The app gives me email as an option for creating an account, then take it away AFTER I enter my email/password. It says it’s invalid, even though I’m trying to CREATE an account, not log in to an EXISTING account. So how can it be invalid? This app will create a new account ONLY WITH PHONE number, but I want to create an account using my email.

This app seems shady to me, but I wouldn’t know how good or bad it is because I can’t use an email to create an account.

Also, pet peeve: why is it not available in iPad/landscape format? (I could say this about so many other apps as well.)

I will gladly change my rating if developer fixes the account-creation weirdness, or explains why I’m wrong about this.

    Developer Response

Dear Solipsister, Thank you for taking the time to review Reckit, and we appreciate your feedback. We want to clarify that Reckit indeed offers three different sign-up methods: using your phone number, Google account, or Apple ID. We do not provide an option to sign up with an email outside of the Google option. We understand your concerns about signing up with a phone number. Please rest assured that we use this information solely to facilitate easier sign-ins and enhance your app experience. However, we understand that some users may prefer alternative methods, and that's why we offer the option to sign up using your Google or Apple account as well. Regarding the iPad/landscape format, we understand that our app is not yet optimized for various devices, including iPads. We appreciate your understanding as a new app in the market. Improving compatibility across different devices is on our development roadmap, and our small team is working diligently to make this feature available in future updates. We take all user feedback seriously, and your input will undoubtedly help us improve our app. If you encounter any further issues or have any questions, please feel free to reach out to support@goreckit.com . Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, and we hope you'll give Reckit another chance. We are committed to delivering an enhanced experience for all our users.
