  • Horrible waste of money

This app literally does not work. Fix yo sheiiit
  • Doesnt work at all

Don’t bother downloading, a long time ago I payed for this app and they completely screwed it up since then
  • Pleasantly surprised!

Was worried after seeing all the bad reviews, but they must have done some updates cause we played three full rounds and had very few problems. There were some pauses where it looked like it was gonna freeze but it always got back going. Fun game!
  • Disappointed kids at Christmas

This was awful and confusing (the technology). My spouse and I also both work in tech and are pretty techy. We finally gave up. Had some sad kids who didn’t get to enjoy a Christmas present they were excited about.
  • The app does not work

I wish I had a zero stars option. The app does not work. The family is disappointed. We will be returning the game to the store.
  • Disappointed

Bought the Family feud. Downloaded the app and it only shows a blue screen. Now I have wasted money on a game I can not play. So sad was going to play for New Year’s Eve party
  • Repeats

Fun for the first few rounds, but then the questions started repeating.
  • Whatever nerve.

How can you pretend this works.
Returning the game to the store tomorrow.
  • Can’t even play

Very disappointed, was very excited to play the game we spent $20 on, and we can’t because the app does not work, freezes as soon as Steve Harvey appears on screen. Hopefully this gets fixed and we can enjoy the game.
  • Needs a lot of improvement

    1. Zero instructions on how to get it on your TV screen. Ended up playing it on phone screen. Only thing we could think of after on our own was to go to iPhone Control Center, Screen Mirroring and mirror to our AppleTV, which let us see it on the screen, but still could only interact through the phone screen. No remote control with the TV screen. The back of the box shows a TV screen with someone using a remote control, so this is false advertising completely, or, if there is a way to get it to work that way, completely void of any setup instructions.

    2. Stealing needs to be redesigned. It was overall the area of gameplay that gave us the most trouble and confusion. Team B has to write their steal answer at the BEGINNING. And then change it along the way if Team A gets it. Instead, Team A should play their whole turn, and then AFTER that, Team B should pick their one steal answer. That would be much more similar to the actual show. The way it is is too different from the actual show and a source of confusion. It even caused a disagreement once.

    3. The Fast Money round does not give enough time and is too rushed. It gave 25 seconds overall, and it ended up with Steve reading the questions almost continuously with zero pause/think time for each answer. At least increase the overall time. But, better yet, change it so that there is 5 seconds after the reading of each question. 5 x 5 = 25, so there is a total of 25 seconds of think time. And the actual time reading of the questions, which could be short or long, does not factor in.

Those are my main 3 things that need to be improved for the game to be salvageable. As is, it’s a fail enough that I might actually return it, which is rare for me. The no TV setup instructions was inexcusable.

    4. Also, the Fast Money round is 1 player from each team, but should really be 2 players from the winning team. People want it to be exactly like the actual show.

But, even if those things were fixed, I still felt myself thinking that it would be better to just use the phone for everything. Why have the physical scorecards and pens at all? It would be better to just have the phone app let each player enter their answer, and pass the phone around. That way strike answers remain hidden, and steals can be done at the end, like in the actual show. And the app can total up the points for you and display the team totals in the top corners. And there can be all of the survey answers rather than just the top 5 answers. This is attempting to be a cross between a board game and a phone/TV app, but ultimately fails. A straight phone app would be better. And a straight AppleTV app would be better. If done right. No need for the physical box/board game.

I’ve tried several variations of Family Feud now, including some pure board games and some pure phone apps and now this hybrid, and, unfortunately, nobody has gotten it just right yet. The potential is so there, and I really hope someone gets it just right soon, because I really want a good Family Feud that is fun for the whole family/group and plays just like the actual show.

The answer is a pure phone app and a pure AppleTV app, just one that gets the gameplay just right. My advice for this vendor is to get rid of the physical board game part, and improve the phone app to be better like I described, where each player enters their answer (voice recognition would be ideal, so each player can say their answer!) and passes the phone around. The app would be free to get and play the first few games, and then have in-app purchase options to buy more games in various pack sizes. Once the phone app is perfected and successful, then release an AppleTV app version of the app that is very similar, but the players pass the remote around, and, ideally, use the microphone button on the remote to say their answer. And also have the secondary option to enter their answer using the remote and a virtual onscreen keyboard (which AppleTV already has a way to optionally use an iPhone for that for entering the characters faster).
