Cool tech, bad app
I got a Shining Mask that couldn’t do custom video, but the app worked reliably. I upgraded to the video capable one and that app is the hardest thing I have to use. The sizing of the app places buttons under other buttons. The back button shows up under the OS’s back to previous app and cannot be pressed without quitting, reconnecting and trying again. Super, super clumsy if you’re trying to do this while wearing the mask. At best, this is a pre-alpha build that has some of the functionality with little reliability.FMLPhotography
So much potential, but…
The app is borderline unusable. Can’t connect to mask 3/4 of the time and offers little options to rescale video to fit mask. I also have to hold down on buttons to get them to function, if they function at all.KeithCourage80

This is the more expensive Mask than the one I had to replace since the last one I got wouldn’t work without being plugged into the wall, for obvious reasons I sent that one back and wanted to replace it with this one. The app functionality is quite frustrating! You should be able to upload multiple of your own designs instead of just ONLY ONE DIY design! You should be able to delete masks you don’t want and add in new ones.
And worst of all is that the MUSIC FUNCTION DOES NOT WORK AT ALL IN CONNECTION WITH THE MASK!!! At least on the original one I got the sound response function worked! And it was $30 cheaper for that mask! It even had more video designs than this mask! I’m extremely upset with my purchase of this MORE EXPENSIVE MASK!!! I love that you can add your own designs, but you should be able to add more than ONE SINGLE design at a time!! And then you should be able to control the mask via Bluetooth AS WELL AS WIFI!!!
Also half of the designs given with the mask don’t even match up with the eye holes in the mask. This app needs updating ASAP!!!!
If you can fix the SPUND RESPONSE ISSUE then I will reevaluate the app and my review/rating. Until then, you get ONE MESELY STAR! 🤬😤tginley4538

The mask is great….when the app matches the mask, this will be a home run. WiFi connection is buggy. App deleted multiple masks and gifs I uploaded. Had to upload again. This is for the HD bulb mask. I will revisit this review when they update it. The brighter LEDS on the HD mask make a big difference. I’m not sure why the shining mask app couldn’t have simply been updated to work with this one. Bugs were sorted out on that one. We should be able to delete default pics and vids. I would rather create and cycle my own. Can only do one at a time. Should be able to stream since it is WiFi. Cool feature would be to stream video from a camera on the mask. Just a thought. Good start…will keep the mask and just watch for updates. Will adjust score as it improves.Tragicscorpio

It may have been developed on an old iPhone 8 or even a 6. Never again have they debugged for modern devices.CJ2bi
Buyer Beware - App Install A Pain
Just bought this mask and after downloading the app I accidentally selected Blu-tooth instead of Wifi, no I have no way to change the option. Tried completely deleting app and resetting phone and it still downloaded with Blu-tooth still selected.PnkWhlz

Higher quality video and pics, and gifs. Also the ability to crop video and gifs easier, so they center right after saving would be helpful.Jb1310

App needs lots of work
The app needs a lot of work. User should be able to zoom in/out and rotate videos so they can be aligned exactly as needed for the mask. There is an area to trim the video but the app calls it “crop” which is very confusing. The music mode doesn’t work at all. The button to upload videos so the mask uses the download icon which is very confusing. Hopefully the app developers see this and make the changes.Rfhrfh
