This app exceeded my expectations. I've finally found the "to do" app that works for me. I tried so many of them, but I definitely prefer this one. It definitely has a learning curve to it. I recommend reading the user guide because it helps explain how to use this app to its full potential. After playing with it more and learning it, it really clicked for me. I'm going to keep using it. Oh and the widgets are great too. I'm going to pay for the pro features because it is only $5 a year. Definitely recommend this app.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review! Your support means a lot and knowing that users find Yata useful really motivates me to continue working on it!I love the design, ascetics, and concept but lots of issues with things nor working. I don’t see a way to create a calendar event vs an action item. I can’t sign an event to my different calendars that I pulled in from gmail. I created one project but could was not able to create another project. I then used the iOS shortcut Action to create a new project and it said it was completed but the project does not show in the app. Needs more polish than I will give it more stars.

Hi Daveh3100, I appreciate your feedback and criticism, and I apologise for the poor user experience you had with the app.
However, without more details, it is difficult to know what is causing each of the issues you brought up.
If you are willing, I would love the chance to help you personally debug the issues you are experiencing! Please get in touch with me via email at support@yata-gtd.com.

P.S. regarding the creation of calendar events, this can be done in the Calendar view. You can tap and hold on the plus button to bring up various menu items, including an option to create a calendar event.
I literally cannot believe this app is free! This is the best to do app I have tried – and I have tried numerous over the last year

Hi Nicole, I’m so glad you find the app useful. Thank you for the kind words and stay tuned for much more to come!I found this app from Reddit, looking for an app I could use for lists, calendar events, and most importantly, show both in a widget. I love how customizable the app and widgets are.
However, when my phone dies, the widgets reset and will not show my lists or calendars. I might even have to redownload the app to get them to work again. Hopefully this bug will be fixed soon.
Thank you!!

Dear User,
Thank you for the kind review! I apologise for the inconvenience caused by the widgets resetting. Unfortunately, I am unable to reproduce the issue you are experiencing, but I’d love to be able to help you fix it.
If you have the time, do drop me an email at yata.feedback@gmail.com so that I can investigate the bug further. Or better yet, make a Bug Report post by navigating to Yata → Settings → Submit Feedback!Really liking the app so far! Just what I was looking for. Just cannot figure out how to assign a color to types of calendar events?
Developer Response
Hello Kdefre,
Thanks for the review! The color of an event is based on the calendar that the event is assigned to. It is the same color that you will see in Apple’s Calendar app.
Taken from the iPhone User Guide, you can change the color of a calendar in the following manner:
1. Open Apple Calendar (the built-in app)
2. Tap Calendars at the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap the Info button next to the calendar, then choose a color.
4. Tap Done.
Note: For some calendar accounts, such as Google, the color is set by the server.
Please let me know if you have any further issues! You can reach me directly via email at yata.feedback@gmail.com, or through the app itself in Settings → Submit Feedback.
BrandonI really like how this app is free and it gives a lot of features. So far everything is great except the custom theme maker is pretty slow and didn’t really work for me.
Update: the theme creator is fine
Developer Response
Hi thanks for the review! Sorry to hear you are having issues with the theme maker, I put in a lot of effort into that feature. May I ask what device you are using and its iOS version?
You may contact me through the app in Settings → Submit Feedback, or email me directly at yata.feedback@gmail.com.
BrandonWas not expecting very much at all given I found the app on Reddit and the low amount of reviews but I’m very impressed! There’s many features I wasn’t expecting such as themes or calendar integration that work well. Honestly I just downloaded the app because of the interactable TODO widget but maybe I’ll look more into GTD. At the very least I will continue to play around with the app and use it as a todo list! Great job on creating such a well designed and looking app, you deserve more users!
Edit:
Showed the app to my GF and she has 3 suggestions.
1. A widget for daily view of Next Actions
2. A weekly view for the calendar in the app
3. Probably a much bigger project but making a web version would be amazing!

Thank you for the review - it made my day!
Stay tuned for lots more coming soon, and if you could share the app, that would be really helpful.
Happy holidays!
Edit: Great suggestions! I’m not entirely sure what is meant by #1, but #2 is already in the works and #3 is planned - though much further down the line (will do a Mac app first). Was not expecting very much at all given I found the app on Reddit and the low amount of reviews but I’m very impressed!

Happy holidays!Thank you random person on Reddit who made this, in a world where even the simplest of apps have a subscription fee, this app is better than most of it's kind and free

Thank you for your kind review and stay tuned as there’s still much more to come! Why is there no option to disconnect the calendar integration?
Why is there no option to manage my account and delete my account?
Developer Response
Hi GECLHO77,
You can disconnect the calendar integration by:
1. Open the Settings app
2. Navigate to Privacy & Security → Calendars → Yata
3. Disable access to Calendar by selecting “None”
As for your second query, Yata stores its data on your iCloud account if you are logged in, or locally otherwise. You can delete the data from iCloud by:
1. Open the Settings app
2. Tap on your Apple ID at the top
3. Navigate to iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Yata
3. Select “Delete Data from iCloud”
I hope this helps, if you have any further questions, feel free to get in touch via email at yata.feedback@gmail.com, or through the app itself via Settings → Submit Feedback.
Have a nice day!
