Can’t log in

I can’t remember my first password, forgot password won’t let me resest my password, so now the game isn’t able to keep my scores and let my kids progress to practice basic subtraction

Promising but needs UI fixes

The gameplay is intriguing and I would love to give this a fair shot! Unfortunately the board doesn't scale to fit my iPhone 12 Mini screen, so the first and last columns of numbers are off screen. Also, in the practice game, the colors are yellow and orange. This can be tricky for kids to differentiate, especially if vision disabilities are at play. Is there a way to change the colors and scale or rotate the screen? Thank you!

Latest update, horrible

This was a definite four stars until the update just a day or two ago, where they added a bunch of different options. Now it crashes or will not even play. It was a fun little game, simple, but effective. Adding all the extra junk has ruined it.

Maths in disguise; great fun too

Love this app. It engages users with its simple layout and uncomplicated playing rules. You can pick this up in seconds. I’m a retired primary headteacher and can see the huge benefits to children of using this game to develop mathematical skills - without actually realising you’re doing it. The strategic element ensures that there is a challenge in playing even for those who are already familiar with their number facts. Great fun for adults too!

AI gets stuck after a longer game

I plan on using this with my students this year for fluency. I’ve been playing with it for a while, but I’ve noticed the AI in the practice version will freeze up and not make any more plays after the game has had many turns.

Sorry for the delay in replying to this Ammmarcela - we've release an update in recent weeks- hopefully this is now all fixed. Thanks for reporting it :)

Fluency In Action

My sixth graders struggle with fluency. I’ve utilized both the printed versions and the app for this program. The kids are so competitive and they begged to have a tournament! The adults in our school loved playing against the students as well! Highly engaging!

Brilliant to hear Kim, we love that you're utilizing both versions as a blended offering. Differentiation in action!

Rigorous Game - Low Floor/High Ceiling

After introducing this to my 8th grade students, some took on the challenge to compete against each other in their down time. This game uses the multiplication facts of 1-12 in such a way that helps learn and review them while strategically placing your next move. Love it! Thank you for creating and sharing the Number Hive.

Thanks winsa lot, you're name tells us you've spent a big of time playing😉 - love that your students are playing in their own time, the Hive is working it's magic.

Great concept, lots of glitches

Frequent glitches in the game such as players turns being skipped, game not ending when someone gets four in a row, etc

Hey Pangers1 - we'd love you to jump on an give the Hive another go, we've released a couple of updates since this review. Come back - the Hive is waiting for you.

My 6th graders love this!

I tried this with my 6th graders and they loved it. We had 5 minute battle rounds where they had to get up and find a new partner to battle. The students were engaged and beg to play it when they are done with their independent work. How can I argue?!? Worth introducing this multiplication game to your students! ✖️ ❤️

Hey Mrs. McG!, what a brilliant way to use the game. One of the most exciting things about Number Hive is the innovative ways that teachers are finding to include it into their lessons. You guys are showing us the way forward! Thanks, you made our day. And thanks for the recommendation, please do keep spreading the word.

I’m loving playing this!

I tried this because I thought it would be good for practicing multiplication and division facts, and it is. It’s also so much more. I’ve found it very strategic and thought provoking, looking for tiles I want to get and also how to prevent my opponent from getting the tiles they need. I’ve just introduced my family to it and they love it too.

Perfect Angelbreath! Exactly what we were hoping for - a fun and educationally robust game that is equally powerful for users at home, or in the classroom. And thanks for spreading the word - keep up the awesome work!
