Great, but not so much in cold

Seems like I get a lot more false positives lately. Dunno if it’s firmware or cold weather or both, but it’s certainly annoying.

Fine but!

Good piece of kit that works well except that it doesn’t recognise cars that are travelling at the same speed as you behind you. It goes green and gives the all clear when there is still a car close behind.

iOS 17.6.1

The app used to provide warnings through headphones but hasn’t since the iOS 17.6.1 update. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but still nothing.

Revised review

It seems to work flawlessly now. A superb tool to aid safety at a lower price than competitors with the additional benefit of more features. Thank you Bryton. - Now if you could slightly widen the radar alert strip on your Rider 420 display via an update in order to aid visibility (as I suggested to your customer service) … I’d be a very happy bunny indeed! It is very narrow and vehicles are difficult to see unless you have perfect vision (which I’m sure many of us don’t have). Cheers 👍

App works ok- but audio alerts need to be better

I don’t use a bike computer & rely on alerts from my phone
It works ok, but even with the phone volume turned right up I can’t hear the alerts when the phone is in a pocket. I would need to be holding the phone near my ears which obviously defeats the purpose.
It really needs an option to change the alert sound to be louder, more distinctive or longer duration

Guardia

I would’ve given this five stars I really like it, but I’ve had some false alerts when car are approaching and also when there are no cars at all. Most of the time it works fine..

Don’t buy a Bryton, the app is mediocre and customer service is zero

The app looks nice, and the sound alert is when a car approaches is loud and helpful. The radar is not perfect, as it rarely detects multiple cars - it almost always only sees one if there is a group of two or three. It also only plays the “all clear” chime maybe 30% of the time (although the screen image shows green, so it’s not that big of a deal). The #1 downside, and why I’m returning my Bryton Gardia is because the app does not have an option to disable iPhone’s auto-lock feature. For those of us with security dictated by our employer, there is no universal disable, but apps can override that, meaning they could have programmed it in to be able to keep the phone awake while it’s on. In other words, the phone screen shuts off after 2 minutes and becomes useless. No shot am I spending ANOTHER $100+ on a Bryton computer when the product itself isn’t even great to begin with, so frankly I’d rather just pony up the money for a Garmin. Sometimes cheaper really isn’t better. Lastly, I know this is a seat mount unit, but I have a rack that won’t allow a seat mount - and they do not make an adapter for a horizontal bar mount. I tried contacting service through their website chat to see if they had any options, and 5 days later zero response. I had to rig something up. (As an aside, the brake light part works great. The radar function works “barely ok”, or at least good enough that I would be happy keeping it if the app worked, but the app is useless as long as it won’t disable auto-lock).

Does it’s job.

I’d love it if they added a speedometer to display. If I have my phone on my bars, Strava readout is more useful, but I’d be okay with this if it had speed time and miles or something simple added to the UI in addition to the car display.
