Sample folder issue

I am having an issue on iPhone version when I try to scroll thru my folders and touch the screen folders automatically open instead of being able to scroll to a folder. For instance when I try to swipe up to my snare folder as soon as I touch the screen whatever folder I fit opens up.

How did I miss this one? Easy to learn and like nothing else for live jamming. Get two iPads and run this on one and DRAMBO on the other and go wild. Who needs hardware when you can this much fun for the price of a couple of beers.

Immediately enjoyable and gets better the more I use it

I’ve never clicked with what people call ‘groovebox’ apps but this just made sense to me and I had instant results. The more I use it the more I learn and I realise the possibilities it brings.
I’m making some slow, dark, atmospheric stuff with it as well as making quick, rhythmic things. The developers are passionate about what they do and respond to questions quickly.
I write this a few days after buying BAM and I can’t wait to learn it inside out to fully explore it.
I think this app is an absolute bargain considering the amount of work that has gone into it and the features included.

Still Some Shortcomings

Wanted to love this app, but there are still a lot of issues.

-Runs fine in standalone for the most part, but freezes in AUM and Drambo frequently.
-Loading audio stems is cumbersome and often leads to freezing.
-The controls are small and hard to see when you are actively altering them. Sound quality just isn’t there for the price. Real time control of the synth engines sounds low resolution for the amount of CPU it eats

While this dev has some interesting ideas, the price is high for what you get, and it’s competing with a host of extremely powerful apps within that space.

Keeps crashing

Seemed awesome, but it has crashed twice in the last hour of using it and I’ve lost my work both times. Not a good start.

Wham BAM thankyou mam!

Grown to love BAM but I need more channels. Like 32 or… unlimited!? At the very least, you could add an internal drum KIT plugin to allow multiple drum sounds on the same channel without having the use the sample index automation. A linear arrangement view would also be nice as an alternative mode like Ableton.

Keyboard input/shortcuts would also be nice!

Great app

Great app for building whole songs, courtesy of the built-in clip launcher.

The developer is very active, and constantly fixing bugs and adding new features, so definitely recommended.

Unintuitive and not very interesting

I had high hopes for this. Really eats cpu fast, difficult to grasp, a lot of tutorial watching. Fine for a hardware groovebox but an ios groovebox should be instantaneous and intuitive. Strictly my opinion. Some will love it. Happy to support Imaginando but I’ll stick with Drambo for now.

Good, but a few UX issues

I really like the workflow, but there are a few things that really bug me about this app.

1. Recording from an audio unit keyboard does not record into the time line, this is a high priority fix in my opinion.

2. Recording from a count in is quite laggy, I hit the note at the exact point that it should start, however, it always misses the first note. Again, this is a high priority bug that should be fixed.

3. The keyboard does not show up on all Audio Units, this feels a bit scrappy in my opinion and should be fixed.

4. Some Audio Units are cropped in the window, again very scrappy and should also be fixed.

Fix the above issues and this will be a great app to use, it is a lot fun, and I like the workflows and sounds I get from it.
