Plays fine, but REQUIRING online access is unacceptable
Of all the AAA iOS ports, this is one of the better ones. Performance is great on iPhone 16 Pro and M2 iPad Pro and I dare say it looks good, too. Problem is Capcom clearly isn’t interested in maintaining it. The same Mia hair bug that was present when this game came out it is there, to give one example. The price fortunately isn’t that bad, I got this bad boy on sale for $7.
But for some truly maddening, godforsaken reason, Capcom has decided to make this game REQUIRE an online connection to start it. A singleplayer game with no online game mode to speak of on a locked-down App Store. So if you planned on playing this offline (like, y’know, while on an airplane or one of the few places anyone would actually play AAA games on an iPhone), forget it. My only guess as to why they did is to stop EU residents from illegally sideloading it… maybe? So they’re scared of losing one sale out of the five people that actually bought this thing? Pathetic, whatever the reason.
I’m giving all their RE games on iOS one star until I can play offline.

Capcom have effectively killed their investment, I wouldn’t be surprised if Resident Evil 2 gets pulled from release on App Store.
Game is not playable.
For starters I have an iPhone 16 pro max with a WiFi 6 router and cellular 5g+ internet connection and the fact I’m writing this review proves I have internet.
I start up the game get through the pre rendered cutscene walk around a little bit, the game crashes.
“Maybe my graphics are set to high”
I go to the settings to change them and then launch and the game still crashes and brings me straight to the Home Screen.
I set it to the lowest possible setting with game mode turned on everything closed launch the game and I get to the part with the old man walking in front of me then disappearing and….crashes and sends me to the Home Screen
How do you expect me to buy this game if it keeps crashing on the best Mobile hardware out to date? Like seriously? I uninstalled this and if I see that there’s an update and it works I’ll update my review as well.

It Freezes a lot
Love the game, however it freezes a lot. Mainly when it is loading. If i change settings or I die it just stays loading. Hope it is fixed soon.

Really enjoyed this game. Difficulty was hard. Played for more than enough hours to justify the low cost. Currently looking for another game similar to this one because I enjoyed it so much.

Glitch stops you progressing
Very annoyed, there is a glitch where it doesn’t give you the interaction button to get a key from a book in order to move through the game, therefore you cant progress at all. It is a well known glitch when searching about it. Don’t bother wasting your money as you only get to play it for a short time. Disgusting.
