Ads make app unusable
This is the first time I’ve felt compelled to review an app. I’ve been reading The Race weekly to daily for three years, primarily using the app since it came out. I love The Race, and I think their content is fantastic.
That said, the new advertising system they’ve added in the last week or so makes the app absolutely infuriating to use. You cannot go 30 seconds reading an article before being redirected to a full page advertisement. You also lose your place in the article when this happens. I don’t mind ads for a free product, but there’s a way to incorporate advertisements that doesn’t completely ruin the user experience. It’s just poor UX design.
From now on, I’m just going to read The Race on browser. It’s a bummer, the app was great and very convenient before it was ruined by poorly implemented ads.The Max Verstappen Podcast
annoying pop ups
deleted the day i downloaded this. they have annoying pop up ads on all their stories. some are just links to their own content. makes no sense. would be 5 stars if they didnt do thisjk1212

Quali spoiled even though I have “no spoilers” enabled
Was cleaning house after downloading the app after hearing about it while listening to the Red Bull cost cap podcast. About an hour later, notification popped up spoiling Mexican Grand Prix quali which I was going to watch later on. I love you all, but I’ve turned off notifications and will keep this at a 3 until that’s fixed or someone can explain to me what I’m doing wrong.Wharbeson

My main issue is with the schedules. Both Suzuka F1 race and the upcoming MotoGP race in Australia have had incorrect schedules in the app. It says thay MotoGP will be October 16th at 21:00 and its almost true… in Australia it will for a fact October 16th and where I am it will be at 21:00 but of the 15th!!!! I guess is something really easy to fix but I don’t know if you guys had noticed that mistake. With Suzuka was the same, it a day ahead. Other than that the app is amazing.Vladimir Izherexzlenko

Finally!
I’ve been reading The-Race on the web for years (don’t forget the hyphen) and love writing and the podcasts—especially the F1 and Bring Back V10s—but also the Indy and formula E coverage. It started out good but has elevated its game bit by bit and, to me, outdoes more established outlets in breaking stories and analysis. Having that in a more phone friendly app was long overdue.In Tune Editor
