  • Makes no sense

Every app on Android is automatic. This one requires you to read a novel to do a single scan on the app.
  • REVIEWS ARE FAKE!!! NO HEATMAP!!

I BOUGHT INTO THE REVIEWS, BUT THIS APP DOESN’T HAVE HEATMAP AT ALL. There’s NO survey, no imaging, NOTHING. I would NOT recommend this app! DEF going to be asking Apple for refund!

    Developer Response

Sorry that you have not found the heatmap button: you need to click on the map icon to display the heatmap window. The full documentation to make a survey is available on www.wifimapexplorer.com.
  • Crashes in iOS 17.2

After updating to 17.2, the app crashes moments after opening. Prior to that, the app seemed to work well, gathering information for devices on your network. As of right now, 1/3/2024, I am unable to use the app.

    Developer Response

Hello 3rrat1c, I've just released a new version of WiFiMapExplorer (version 3.6) on the app store containing a patch that solves the problem you encountered. You just have to update the app and it will not crash anymore. Sorry for the trouble. Thanks.
  • The only actual heat map app

I found this app by accident after trying 3 other apps that claimed to do heatmaps. This is the only one that actually helped me to create a heatmap of my house WiFi coverage and figure out where the interference was coming from. The instructions are a little hard to follow, but basically after you load some sort of plan of your building (I used a satellite view of my house) you pick points and test the WiFi there. Once you’ve got the point tested you save it and continue until you’ve tested as many points as you need to get a good picture of where the WiFi problems are.

Hello Roachbone, Many thanks for this report, I'm glad you like the app!!! Sincerely, Alexandre Fenyo
  • Great Tool!

This is a great tool and developer provides excellent support. This is a special tool though for network / Wi-Fi engineers. You need to know how networks work. You need to understand other networking tools and data flow. If you fit these requirements then you can understand how this app will be of use to you. This app provides very good throughput mapping but does not provide power levels from AP. However, this appears to be able to replace a walkthrough assessment using iPerf. It is one of several tools needed when assessing Wi-Fi. It doesn’t do it all but what it does do it dies well.
