Reviews of PastureMap+

  • Great to see the update!

Now that the new PastureMap+ has launched in the summer of 2024 (ignore the old reviews of a pre-launch product), we have had a much better experience using the app that had felt a bit neglected over the last couple years. The customer service team is also very responsive and helpful. Glad to see it!
  • Forgotten was better than Revamped.

The old app had its flaws, but was, and thankfully still is usable. This new app is not ready. My biggest complaint is that it is NOT able to make a subdivision. I am not able to subdivide a pasture to make paddocks, at all. That makes this app pretty well useless for someone who uses a lot of poly wire to subdivide pastures. Another flaw is lost data. I was going back through my grazing from last year and maybe half of the paddocks showed when they were grazed and for how long by which herd. About 5 paddocks had no data, lost name and everything. To list out some more complaints I have are 1. No search feature, to find a gate, fencer, pasture, paddock, or anything else listed in your pasturemap. 2. Retired subdivision history is stored in a herd, not in a pasture. Which to me is backwards, the pasture’s history should stay with that pasture. 3. TO DO list is not on mobile app. Sure would be handy to have. 4. Printing has to be done by screen shooting then printing. If done from a laptop it comes out with stars all over the map making it worthless. 5. Pasture Pictures are also stored in a herds history. For me those pictures are to document the pastures from my management. 6. Pasture map service. Its been better lately. For a while the only person I could get ahold of was a Carbon salesman, after some extremely deep digging. This summer they finally hired Anna, who is a customer support person. Anna must have gotten sick of me complaining at least once a week last summer trying to use this app. It was forgotten for too long. 7. When making new subdivisions in a pasture with an existing subdivision and a herd grazing, when you finish setting up a subdivision you have to select which subdivision the herd is moving into. This means that if you set up a subdivision on the app for an employee to set up the next day, it messes up that herd’s records. The subscription for 1 year to this service to be able to share between a team or employees is $750! That is outrageous for a mediocre at best product. If anyone can suggest a different service that actually works and tries to work with their customers I am all ears.
  • Way faster!

We are using this app in Mexico and it is a lot faster to make pastures moves than the regular pasturemap app and it has not frozen up or crashed.!
