Tried on two devices but the download only gets half way then stalls.

Waste of money. Stick with nz topo maps as they r free and better

You have to be kidding. NZ Topo free version basically just demo. Only free for ONE painfully loaded sheet at a time. No integrated user features. Working with gpx files hopelessly complicated. Pay to display gpx tracks and more map sheets. Way more expensive than my app.
