App settings says that alarm will work in background mode “even if your display is off”.

Very handy app. I had wanted one for a while, but only today did I go into search mode to find one.
I held back on the 5 star rating only because I use my ipad in horizontal mode nearly all the time and your app only allows vertical mode. Usable, but annoying.Rtball
