Control Panel for Twitter User Reviews

Makes the site usable

I cannot express how nice this little extension is. Twitter has become a complete garbage heap, but Control Panel allows me to hide most of the trash. Well worth the money.

Doesn’t resume from where left off

This is prob a restriction of browsing the website in safari vs the app, but when launching site in this extension, cannot resume from the last read tweet. Hence to read chronologically, must scroll down and try to remember which was the last tweet you read. This is an MVP feature, unusable without. I’m going back to the twitter app.

Response from developer

Hi, this was due to a Twitter bug which has subsequently been fixed on their end. The timeline position is now once again correctly restored if you view a Tweet from it and then go back.

works great

thank you for taking the itme to make this a working safari extension. Happy to support it.

Doesn’t work

Sadly this app doesn’t do anything currently

Response from developer

There are multiple issues which can cause a Safari browser extension to appear not to be working, e.g. you have to explicitly change multiple extension settings after installing the app, and Safari won't run the extension if you open Twitter with a bookmark created with Add to Home Screen. We've added a button in v3.14.0 of the app which takes you straight to the appropriate place in Settings, and created some initial setup videos here which we'll add to the App Store the next time we release a new version: https://twitter.com/ControlPanelFT/status/1687393807887994880

Does not appear to work at all

Installed it, chose several setttings. Nothing has changed on Twitter's UI. The X logo is still there. The feed still defaults to "For You." Unless I've skipped an important step or something, this extension simply does not work.

Response from developer

Have you given the extension permission to access Twitter URLs in Safari's Extension settings? If you have and it's still not working, please DM us at @ControlPanelFT or create an issue at https://github.com/insin/control-panel-for-twitter/issues and we can try to help figure out what's happening

Must-have for a post-Musk Twitter.

Got the Firefox browser extension and I could feel my blood pressure lower once I realized I could block off the “for you” feed entirely, which was my main Musk-era stressor. Was very sad that Safari didn’t have mobile extensions — or so I thought! Finding out I was wrong and this was available on mobile was like the clouds in the sky parting for me. Best 8 dollar spend of my life, a thousand times better than Blue. Get the free desktop browser extension to see if it’s right for you, and if it is, delete the Twitter app and use the mobile site with this safari extension.

Seems to have stopped working recently

I’m seeing all the garbage on my Twitter feed again. Especially promoted posts.

Twitter made a change to the site which broke Control Panel for Twitter's timeline features - this has been fixed in version 3.8.1

Not Sure What's Happening...

Being able to scroll through Twitter on my iOS tablet without any of the unnecessary utilities or foolish decisions being made by you-know-who has been a blast. However, the extension has been unable to allow me to browse through Twitter on Safari without going kaput after a few minutes. I'm not sure if the extension needs to be updated or if this is a problem with Safari itself. Either way, I would like for this issue to be resolved as soon as possible. Otherwise, this app has been a godsend ever since I purchased it.

P.S. Might I suggest shortening the name of this app to "Control Panel"?

UPDATE: Not only are retweets currently being featured in the "Following" tab, but promoted tweets are visible when they shouldn't be. I don't know if this is the Twitter API fighting back, but this is ridiculous.

Pretty great

Lot of control over the Twitter website. Would be nice if I could hide the 'following' tab text since I have hidden the 'for you' tab and the 'following' is superflous info. Would be perfect if I could hide all posts by blueticks.

Doesn’t work with full screen

I bought this to support the author but be aware that it doesn’t work for Twitter as a PWA (add to home screen), which makes it a lot less useful especially on smaller devices.

Kinda wish that it was a WebView with this added in instead of an extension, so you could have it as a separate icon and app.
