Too glitchy

It’s great having syncthing on iOS but you can’t just run this and forget about it. On Android it’s always running and I never have to fiddle with it. On iPad it regularly stops syncing and when I bring the app to focus, the display goes all wonky and I have to restart it. Good idea but not reliable.

No shortcut support

This app desperately needs shortcut support. I want to be able to quickly share a file from another app and have it sync, but the steps to do that are arduous and have to be memorised.

Just opening the app is unpleasant. You always get a huge banner covering half the screen to let you know syncing is resuming. Just use a status icon. A traffic light will do.

It's not a very "iPhone" solution. In fact now that I look at it, it doesn't even appear to use native UI elements. It looks like an app for another type of phone.

Syncs sometimes

Great concept and works with syncthing. However I’ve found over the months after purchasing, that background sync is very unreliable. This is no fault of the developer since iOS not allowing apps to run continuously is causing the reliability problem but I think this should be called out better so people know . Paying for the upgrade is useless if I can’t count on it keeping my files in sync.

Response from developer

We try to explain this under "Background sync" at https://www.mobiussync.com/faq/ Note also to future users, you are welcome to try out Möbius Sync using the freemium version to see if the background sync is adequate for your needs before unlocking unlimited sync by in-app-purchase or with Möbius Sync Pro - features are identical - it is only the payment method which differs.

Not working

Bought specifically to use the external folder (non sandbox) option and it’s not working ios17.

Response from developer

It seems this was an iOS issue that's now been resolved by Apple.

Amazing program

As others have mentioned, this in combination with Obsidian is a dream come true. It’s worth the $5 and then some.

I just hope to see continued updates from the developer. Syncthing has since been updated to 1.27.2. Please keep it up to date :).

Response from developer

1.27.7 is currently in beta. You can navigate to Github Discussions for more details via https://www.mobiussync.com/faq/

Works well, especially for Obsidian

Works pretty much as you'd expect given the limitations of the OS. The experimental feature of syncing app sandboxes appears to work so far, at least for my use case of Obsidian. Kinda eh I had to pay for what is, on everything else, free/open source software, but I also get it– the Fruit Company's annual fees won't pay for itself. As far as I could tell this is the "official" (or at least endorsed by the syncthing devs) version of syncthing.

App works great. But removed files not actually deleted

This app works great. Exactly as advertised and highly recommended for syncing across devices and platforms. Two comments: Files don’t actually get deleted when they are removed. They get moved to recently deleted but don’t seem to ever go away. The heading in the files app says files may be removed by the storage provider, but that doesn’t happen. For devices low on storage this is a problem. Files should be cleaned up periodically by mobius. It would also be great if I could select an album on my camera roll as a share location and have the sync app automatically create an ignore list for only valid file types (JPG, HEIC, HEIF, MOV) and allow syncing images to the camera roll and this album. Don’t know if this is possible within the limitations of iOS…

Fantastic solution to Obsidian sync

Straightforward syncthing client nicely fit to ios with clever background strategy which works

The only major con is the ugly icon

The usability of this app has improved drastically with the external folder integration. I can recommend this as the best private cross-platform syncing solution.

Storages usage problem

Correctly I use this app to sync with my Syncthing server.
I deleted files in local syncing folder or even from my server syncing folder, the files will disappeared immediately with both local and server, but my iPhone storage usage doesn’t change. Means the deleted files is still occupied my iPhone storage.
And the iPad Air 5 of this app cannot use local network, even there’s no local network permission request in iPadOS privacy and security setting.
No other issues. Please help.
Thanks.
