App needs to be on computer

Love the app just one thing I suggest is it needs to be available to download on the computer, would make studying more enjoyable than going of my phone screen.

Best app for journey man or master electrician

An outstanding app for mastering the NEC Code! It offers precise study materials, a wide range of practice exams, and detailed feedback to track your progress. The integration with a Discord channel is a game-changer, providing a supportive community for discussions and real-time help. Perfect for journeyman and master electricians!

Useless

This is extremely useless to help someone unless they have money 😒every thing is locked and it’s a must pay to see anyyyything app

Nevada

Still navigating the app, will update review after using it longer.

Amazing

This is an awesome tool to help you gain confidence in preparing for your journeyman exam. The bonus is the questions are pulled form your state specifically, to gain greater confidence. Would definitely suggest this tool to anyone.

Great app

Used the app for studying for my electrical exam. Wording very tricky but very good app to make you understand the code book. It is definitely a lot harder than taking the real exam but all in all it helped me pass the Ohio exam thank you!!!!

Best Exam app out there, needs improvement

The app definitely helped me refresh my code book skills. One of the biggest challenges I encountered while using the app is some of the wire description (such as insulation type, cable acronyms and wire sizes) must have been a Canadian standard which didn’t seem to correlate very clearly with the standard we use here in the states. Outside of those occasions there were a few references in the hint tab that I was able to disprove.

All said and done I like the app and may use it again in the future. I would recommend it to anyone needing another resource to study for their exam.

Response from developer

Hi! Thank you for your review. We’ve reviewed our questions to ensure all questions follow the American standard for wire names and it has been reflected in the app.

Needs code update in MA

I want to buy the package but it’s not worth buying if the app if code is being based off the 2020 code book I need the 2023 code to be on the app

Response from developer

Hi Applesapling, FYI we have updated the MA code to 2023. Thanks!

Incorrect answers, no explanation

This could be great but I have selected my state(WI) which is 2017 nec and the practice exams are still basing answers off 2023 code, therefore not helpful at all for studying for current exams based on 2017.

Also if you get an answer incorrect, or correct for that matter, they don’t reference the code article is exam results/review which is honestly the whole point of practice so this app is pretty useless for me.

Possibly the app is better if you pay 150$ for pro; however, if it’s going to test me on 2023 nec when I need to study 2017nec there’s no way I’m paying for pro.

Response from developer

Hi Partpete, sorry to hear about your experience. The WI exam is indeed based on 2017 and questions inside the app are curated to that version of the codebook. If you click on the top right light bulb icon, you should see hints on where the answer is located in the codebook. All questions that are codebook related have hints and 70%+ of our question base are codebook questions. Happy to chat through this over email if you found any errant questions - message me at support@dakotaprep.com.

Garbage

Nope needs work on a fundamental basis

Questions are not checked for accuracy of grammar, or accuracy of question to selected answer type/conditions.

Don’t ask how many receptacles allowed in situation “x” and only provide selectable answers of wire gauge AWG.
