Waste of money
The app is so far behind that you pass everything up before you realize it and the audio portion is very woke and irritating. Also, the developer got in touch with me and stupidly said I ran the app backwards therefore nothing could be done? Are you freaking serious? I live an hour from Carmel, I know which way to go you condescending jerk.

Rubbish
This is an expensive app.. it has potential to be great but it just isn’t unfortunately.
It just doesn’t work efficiently, doesn’t ever know where you really are like it should, so the directions are useless. Save your money.

Did not work some time
App did not work at some times and it would often did not respond. I have to restart my iPhone few time. Seems some location and connectivity related issue in the app software as it does not work fully in offline mode. As such good story and accurate map info when it worked.
Complete rip off
Despite reloading multiple times the app did not work. Took us to a random start point and then kept skipping and exiting from the app. The third time it reloaded it did not recognise the tour as having already been purchased and sought to charge for access again. In the end we just gave up trying to use it. Complete rip off.

Great Idea, Poor Execution
We bought and listened to the entirety of this tour for our drive along 17 Mile Drive and were very disappointed.
From the breathy, unprofessional narration, to the constant plosives (please go buy a $10 pop filter with my purchase fees), to the short, shallow, and sometimes questionable stories, this is one to skip.
We’ve traveled all over the West enjoying GyPSy Guides (now GuideAlong) for their deep, rich stories and professional narration so we had hopes that this app would be similar. We were sorely disappointed even after listening to the entirety of the tour. Great idea, poor execution.

17 mile drive, sort of
The app’s interface is ok. It kept insisting that I should have gone to the beginning of the route, despite me being about a 1/4 mile away from one of the two main entrances of 17 mile drive (there are many, but I started at arguably one of the largest).
My location was turned on for the app at the highest level of permissions possible, so I know that wasn’t the issue. As it turns out, the 17 mile routes on these maps don’t start at the usual main gates for the driving path. Ok, that’s fine, the app will correct itself while I drive, right? Well…
For a few miles, I could not figure out why I wasn’t getting any voice prompts or narration, and then I realized the route doesn’t really follow 17 mile drive as laid out by the official local maps. It still hits major landmarks (it follows the peninsula, rather than the usual driving trip), but it isn’t really appropriate to call it the 17 mile drive audio tour. Perhaps the Monterey Bay / Pacific Grove / Carmel scenic drive?
Additionally, the app gives two choices - to start from Carmel or Monterey - but it should have been clearer that those options are actually about which direction you want to take the drive (clockwise or counterclockwise).
The narration itself is nice so far, and it’s helpful that it mentions where to turn at tricky spots and the main parking lots. However, I expect older people will have problems getting this to work. I had trouble just downloading the demo, and I’m in my mid-twenties and working in tech. Therefore, I only recommend this if you’re confident with mobile devices and apps. You can get around 17 mile drive just fine with the map and street signs.

Nice app
GPS spotty so accurate when driving off at times but nice info given.
Well worth buying this app
The app worked perfectly for us and narrated details about points of interest shortly before we arrived at those points, which made it easier for us to decide if we wanted to park and look around on foot, or just view from the car. We've been to 17-mile drive several times and still learned new things from this app. We appreciated the “learn more” option to get even more info. A+, we would buy more audio tours from this app developer.

Horrible
Did not even use. It is a collection of about 40 photos, half of which are the travel from either Monterey or Carmel to 17 mile drive. What an absolute waste of money!!

We did our tour in pieces and the app made it simple to do that. Could not have been happier. Learned quite a bit about the history along the journey.

We were driving a rental car and app was useless... did not recognize our location and was frustrating . Finally turned it off so we could really enjoy the ride . Just use the map that is given to you at the gate
Fun and informative
We have young kids in car seats and we can’t always get in and out and read all the signs that I would like to. This app was helpful so we could enjoy the drive and learn about the history and area all at once. I do wish it didn’t ask me so many times what I thought of the app. If you are using your phone as your camera, download the app on another person’s phone so you don’t have to keep unplugging it/switching back and forth.
