This is a digital reading workbook
As an elementary school English as a second language teacher, I use this app from time to time to practice non-fiction reading comprehension. This app is a digital reading comprehension workbook without any additional features aside from the color pictures. All of the questions are literal. There are no inferential, vocabulary or "higher level" questions. I usually use it whole group, projecting the iPad onto a screen. We read the questions first then read the selection. When we get back to the questions I have partners talk with each other to agree upon an answer and refer to the text to show where they found the answer. To make it fun, I have partners write their answer on a small whiteboard. I award points for correct answers AND explaining how they knew the answer was correct. I sometime use this app to have students read and answer the questions independently. If the students answer correctly, a smily face appears by their answer choice. If they answer incorrectly a frowny face appears by their answer choice and they can choose another answer. There is not a way for students to log in and keep track of their scores unless, before exiting the app the teacher goes and counts and makes note of the number of frowny or smily faces.

Great app
We do this nightly with our first grader, very good app for basic reading comprehension and testing.
Another Great App!
I have downloaded just about all of the apps from this company. My kids are reading more than ever. They read in the car, they read at home, they just like to read. I am very happy with their love of reading now. I know that my kids will be in the top reading groups at their school. I just wish that I would have bought the iPad right when it came out. I have spent so much money on books that end up lost, torn, or just sitting on the bookshelf at home. I also like that you get like 100 stories in these apps. So my review is five stars.
