Excellent and up-to-date
The NYRR United Half Marathon app is terrific. Great navigation and easy to use. Most important for a running app, it is up-to-date with accurate data, something many others lack but this one delivers.

I generally never rate apps but it was incredibly helpful with getting most up to date information which I didn’t have to scour the NYRR website for.
It didn’t work properly
It’s very simple. I couldn’t keep tracking my fellow runners thru the app. It showed me when they started and when they finished. Poor service. Get serious on this one, NYRR organization. Thanks!
Disappointed
Told all my family to track me using the app and that they could see me cross the finish line via the app and both failed half way through my run. Luckily my husband was able to use Life360 to track my progress but this app was very disappointing.
Could not connect to server
Just continue to get could not connect to server error. Can’t track runners, can’t get race day info.
Just because there isn’t one yet
Just giving this a 1 star because I wanted to be the first to do it. The app is actually great. But someone has to do it🤷

Innovative and accurate. Some unique features (live feed, in particular). A must for runners and supporters alike!
Can’t login after new update
Once I was forced to delete and re-download that my login credentials don’t work and I was a participant this year. So many cool feature but the functionality is abysmal. Also y’all either totally missed QA or the QA dev needs to be fired. No way should the update/hot fix have happened the day of the marathon.

Constantly crashes and inaccurate runner location
The app would not stop crashing and therefore we couldn’t track our friends who were running for 90% of the day. The 10% of the time the app worked, the tracking was WAY off. I understand that there must be some logic involved for estimating exactly where runners are between mile markers but the logic clearly was horrendous – I found it to be off by around 5 minutes. If a runner is consistently running at 8 min per mile pace, the logic should be close to that, not putting the runner ahead by 5 minutes.

Needs more server capacity
This app was pretty useless the first few hours of the marathon when a lot of people were using it. It would either close or give a can’t connect to server message. This hasn’t happened in past years. Maybe the new video options?
Whatever it was, the primary job of this app is to help us find our friends and cheer for them, and it didn’t do that job. You need to make that work next year. Beef up the server capacity.

app crashes
I used this yesterday to track people, and it did work wonderfully but there are times after the race is finished I go to open to app to see when everyone actually finished the race, and it would crash. I had to re download to get it to work again.
Crashes!
Worked and then would now open. Deleted and reinstalled the app. Same thing. Worked a few times and now does not open. Very frustrating.
Says only for participants of 2023 Marathon
Upon installing and logging in with latest credentials , it says only for participants of 2023 Marathon. I am one and not sure why it doesn’t let me in since this morning - app crashes and the message is the latest after removing the app and reinstalled. Please fix and advise. Thanks.
Crashed every time
I was able to download the app a few days ago and loaded in the runner information. Day of race, in the morning I checked the information, but once the race started it did nothing but crash. Even though the race has been over for a while, it’s still crashing immediately upon opening. Completely useless unfortunately.

Laggy and awkward
If TCS mean to show off their prowess, they failed. The app didn’t update unless you killed it and reloaded. It crashed unless you reboot your phone. The map tracking, the spilt showing and the notices are seriously out of sync. What could they have been thinking? Clearly a case of poor project management. Not only is this app flawed, but it makes me wonder who would hire Tata for business system development.

Difficult day for the app
Very disappointing performance of this app today. I’m sure the number of users impacted the tracking ability but after the first hour, we could no longer follow our runners. The app is not reloading now so I hope there is a fix. I’d like to see splits and pix.
Recalling my dislike
Frist this morning it would not load. I tried everything to no avail. Even after the marathon started with the wheel chairs. But then once it was the turn of the runner I was following it worked perfectly. And has been a joy to use.
Absolutely useless
Freezes constantly and the only way to fix it is to uninstall and reinstall. I ended up missing my friend because the tracking stopped working for me and everyone in my area at the same time. I would give this app a negative review if I could.
Embarrassingly bad
Tata Consultancy Services is the presenting sponsor the NYC Marathon and they are also a man IT consultancy yet the app completely failed on Marathon Sunday. It wouldn’t even open and just crashed every time. If this is TCS’ quality of work for the marathon, I’d hate to have them do IT work for my company
