I will enjoy this very much.
The price may be a little high, but I'm willing to pay it for the convenience. It's just what I want. I wish I had this last year when I was in Spain. A little dictionary takes much to long. This is fast and when you find your word there are lots of common phrases that you may want to use. There are conjugations, phrases, tenses and such. My wishes, for the app developers, would be: I would like the ability to hear the word. I would like a keyboard that is able to use these: é & ñ to find a word in Spanish. Without these the word meaning is totally different. I would also like to be able to go back to the last screen. There is no way to do this, you must re-enter the word you originally entered. Hope this is helpful to anyone that is fussing over the price. The price is what it is and I took a chance and I'm glad that I did. I'm far from being a rich woman, but when it helps me learn I'm more apt to make an exception. Education is a beautiful thing. Never stop learning. Love my iPhone, bring on the apps, great tools. Worth 20 bucks
I bought this program because it offers an offline dictionary for use when out of the country. It is actually quite good, and the contextual menus that pop up when hovering over words is quite useful. The best feature for me is the verb conjugation function. Though there are a couple of errors as noted by earlier reviewers ( escrito vs escribido), for the most part it is excellent. The 14 tenses of verbs used in Spanish has always been challenging, and this is definitely a welcome feature. 20 bucks might seem high, but this is the best Spanish/English program out yet, whether for jailbroken or official apps.Show lessneffmeister
Price is only part of the equation
Yes, $30 was too high. $10 will probably sell many more copies. Ultralingua apparently agreed that $30 wasn't going to work and lowered the price. It's been said by others but Apple has nothing to do with setting prices so slamming Apple for an app's price seems unfair. I felt comfortable buying the app for $20 after having first checked out the Ultralingual web site for more details. After ten minutes of trying the purchased app I found it easy to use. I had no problems with conjugations. As advertised, one does not to be online to use it. Searched-for words displayed in multiple phrase context seems extensive. In practical terms, traveling with a paper version is no picnic. I have yet to find a reliable Spanish-English paper version that fits easily in a pocket. And I most always have my iPod Touch with me so I've added a comprehensive dictionary at no extra weight. Electronic pronunciations would be nice but not sure how much more that would add to the size of the app. Unless I'm missing something, including a simple Help file explaining basic operation may be helpful for some users? We'll see how far a $20 purchase price goes when it comes time for any future updates.Show lessdhandler
