Bah update doesn't work
If you have this, then don't update to new version as it won't open now (for me at least!)
First version was simple and kinda handy but have to delete it now

Too bulky, too limited
I tried to use this at a restaurant the other day, with no success. Buggy: it doesn't seem to recognize your default tax and tip percentages, and you can't type them directly in, you have to slide little sliders. Very unwieldy navigation for getting information quickly. I also wanted to calculate tips for a check not evenly split (my sister only ordered a shake while I ordered a meal), but that would mean I would have to do separate calculations for each of us (four at the table). Sorry, next!

buggy
taxes are always subtracted. shouldn't taxes be added to the amount? this is a buggy application. don't waste your time, especially if you're good at numbers.
Good app overall
Tip keeps going back to 0% even after set to another default. Other than that it is simple and easy to use.
The only iPhone tip calculator that correctly deterines tips (before sales tax)
I've always understood that when calculating a tip, the tip amount should be based on the the subtotal (the amount after removing tax). Of the iPhone tip apps that I've examined, this is the only own that does this.
I'd like to see some improvements, but overall I like this app, and it's free. I'd like to see improved sensitivity of the sliders and I think that the sales tax amount should be displayed with two decimal places instead of one. Where I live, the sales tax amount is 7.45%, but it is displayed as 7.5% (although the correct tax amount is actually calculated). The slider buttons could be larger, too, to make it easier to move them.
In closing, I like this app a lot, and I think we'll probably see improvements in the weeks and months ahead.

Love this app
I was taught that one does not include the sales tax when calculating a tip. This is the only one I have found so far that allows one to exclude the tax from the calculation. I just wish that their preview would mention this feature. I have looked at all of the tip calculators and none touts this feature. I only found this one by reading the reviews.

Brillient
Love it. Helped me at lunch today lol! Thanks :D
Is it just me or the math wrong?
Why is tax taken out? I'm not sure why there's even a spot for tax. Most if not all places will give you the Check Total with tax included. The price divided between the party without tax included doesn't represent the real Grand Total Amount. If so, who pays the tax at the end?
I ended up just leaving tax at 0% because its not needed. Other than this issue, i've hand no problems with the app. Thanks for making free software for the iphone/ipod touch.
