We are happy to announce that projects can be directly exported to ShadowMagic. Gel Swatch Library is the best way to discover and distinguish between gel colors. It has always been easy to make up a collection of gels for your show and save them as a project. Now that work can be used directly in our virtual light lab.

Bug Fix from 3.0.3. The projects file now will keep your gels. If you updated from 3.0.2 to 3.0.4 you will not see the problem. If you have updated from 3.0.2 to 3.0.3 and if you had any projects (the file folder) the gel data is gone. Any projects and notes you had are preserved. The blank gels can be deleted and replaced with your original intentions. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Gel Swatch Library now follows current swatch books in their respective order. We still have the very handy numerical sort as well. Also runs on iPad, with rotation lock off. There are over 82,000 elements of information concerning the 1600 gels. Most of them are now correct. One color is not. Bonus points to those who can find the incorrect color.

Hi, thanks for being a long time customer. BTW, we are coming up on our 12th birthday thanks to folks like you. The short answer is no you don't have to pay for existing functionality. When you purchased the app, the compare function was triggered by an icon the looked like a scale or balance. Now the compare function is accessed by a more legible icon. It is found at the bottom left of the gel view screen. The in app purchase is to view gels or photos through the camera much as you would look through a swatch from your gel book. Roughly 1/3 of our customers have added that functionality .
Almost Perfect
Great app! I would love to be able to cross compare ANY 2 gels, not just what is comparable to the first selected gel.
Also once you add a gel to a project, you should be able to click on those gels and see the waveform and transmission %. Not just attached notes.
Fix those two things and you’ve got a 5 star app!

Thanks, we appreciate your comments. You can cross compare any 2 gels in the library. Just select the first color and then tap the compare icon at the bottom left and that will allow you to find any other gel in the more than 1600 colors. We will take a look at your request for projects and see if it can be done soon. BTW, the twelfth birthday for our app is coming up and we would love to get another star for our rambunctious 12 year old.

Great tool if you take the time to set your screens brightness and color temperature this app renders color really well. Also has nice features to make your life easier.
